Looking for any general suggestions for relatively secure (think term deposit) accounts to achieve some income from a few tens of thousands of $$.

not investment advice. Just some ideas to research further.
ING or UBank TD for 3% very safe. Bank shares, Telstra, Sydney airports etc, 6% fully franked. More risk but seems safe enough for us with many thousands of $$$. But YMMV.

and tips as well?

In old days, battery had to be checked with distilled water top up, if required.

When I worked for Caltex we had Tapolene to top up batteries. On other things fuel, I remember those after hours places where you put 20c pieces into a coin operated bowser. The last one I remember was on Silverwater Rd Silverwater, Fleet IIRC.

Here we go with definition of Social media. Apologies for quality of photo.

That's not all inclusive however

Come on now, Of course Changi Airport is the standard setting of all things social media!!!

It certainly wouldn't be a list of the only social media platforms with a changi airport presence.

If you have a mortgage (and it allows advance payments and then withdrawals of same), or any sort of loan (ditto), I'd park it there. Greater savings (which you could withdraw monthly to get the 'income' if required) than any deposit and as risk free as it gets, I think.

Oh, one of those panic moments this morning. Messenger call received just before 5:30am. It was Jnr#2 in tears. Left backpack on the train between Copenhagen and Malmo. iPad, GoPro, chargers, book and all the other stuff you like to keep at hand in carry-on bag, now gone.

From my end, fortunately, it's just a lost bag. From Jnr's end, devastated!

And tigers in your tank?

That reminds me of Muddy Waters lyrics (in part):

I can raise your hood
I can clean your coil
Check your transmission
Then give you the oil
I don't care what the people think
I got to put a tiger in your tank

Those calls are tough when there is very lttle you can do. I recall a call from Spain about a handbag stolen with passports in Barcelona, and one from Hungary about a lost passport (the latter was eventually found hiding in someone else's bag).

When it's directly in front of a hospital apparently....

Come on now, those patients who are in hospital for amputations due to circulatory problems can't travel far and they need their smoke hit[SUP]*[/SUP]!

* this is actually a very sad situation. But it always gets me that people are out the front sucking in the "fresh air", which has caused them to be there having lower limbs cut off in the first place.

Walked to my desk in the office this morning to find the computer mouse gone. That's to go on top of the constant adjustments to my chair when I am not here.

Can't wait to stop working so I can get away from these pigs. Am I being harsh?

I still have one of those Esso tiger tails.

I liked the one where they promoted the benefits of their petrol with added "Methyl Benzene" giving the tiger its performance. LOL.

(Toluene is produced normally in the production process and extra is added to raise the octane level. Also (Wikipedia) "In Australia, in 2003, toluene was found to have been illegally combined with petrol in fuel outlets for sale as standard vehicular fuel. Toluene attracts no fuel excise, whereas other fuels are taxed at over 40%, so fuel suppliers are able to profit from substituting the cheaper toluene for petrol." That definitely put a tiger in the company's tank.)
