Saw it advertised at my local chemist yesterday.

I will probably get my at Chemist Warehouse. As flu jab prices have come down, I hope more of us get the flu vaccine to provide herd immunity for those that can't get the vaccine.

Poor 60 minutes team - Kidnapping charges now. This will not end up good for them, and absolutely shocking that 60 minutes corporate put their staff in danger.

Kidnapping charges in Lebanon. Could it get any worse?
Shame our Consulate has to help out.

What I don't get is, did Channel Nine / 60 Minutes really pay for this thing? How stupid would you have to be at the top level to approve something like that?

Not to mention, if it can be traced that they did pay for this thing - and the only evidence so far seems to come from the Lebanese authorities, which may or may not be of questionable disposition - then the senior figures at the channel will have something to answer for, and I don't mean signing condolence cards. As if the crew implicated in the plot that are in Lebanon now did or will assume absolute sole and full responsibility.

Aussie Taxpayers footing the bill for corporate stupidity. Does it get any worse? 60 Minutes should be billed by the Australian Government for their time and costs.

You and I both know that doesn't happen. Nor does the government bill for time or costs (as far as I am aware of) for any other form of consular assistance, which apparently all citizens have a right of access to. This includes both the stupid ones (e.g. getting imprisoned in Thailand for not respecting local laws) and the not so stupid ones (e.g. being evacuated from Egypt due to civil unrest).

If it is any consolation, the way that Julie Bishop is going in Foreign Affairs, especially given that this is in the Middle East region, the amount of tangible help afforded to those implicated in the crime will probably be the same as most other "consular interventions". That is, next to Buckley's.

If (big 'if') this is a case of Channel 9 being implicated it will be interesting to see the ramifications... something about not being allowed to profit from crime. Might mean Channel 9 is prohibited from making a show out of it here in Australia (which they would make money from through advertising).

Please remind me, are anti biotics taken before or after food?

Some are taken with food but macrolides like rulide ( roxithromycin) you take 30 min before food. Or 3 hours after!

Why not? Media agencies profit all the time by reporting on all sorts of criminal activity, including "exclusive" interviews with key crime figures or the like.

I think media agencies, at least in the capitalist first world, have proven that they are nearly immune to any sort of prosecution, no matter what they say. And in an Australian society, especially Channel Nine, they have the balls* of every politician firmly in their hands. When was the last time any media editor or boss was subjected to any kind of severe disciplinary action, legal or otherwise? I rest my case.

I think there might be a difference if the network actually causes, or is directly involved in, the committing of a crime? Much the same as I think Shapelle's book was going to be prohibited from making her money in Australia.

Be that as it may, that would rely on the crime being actually connected to the Channel Nine network itself (i.e. as a channel). On the other hand, if they can just say that the crew who are implicated in the crime acted fully within their capacity and assume responsibility, then although they work for the channel, the channel didn't have a hand in the crime. So they would just be reporting on a crime that one of their own committed, with no criminal connection to those within the channel. I'm sure the upper management will be happy to cast away their own, including Tara Brown, to save dirtying any more at the channel and to be able to report on the story.

On the other hand, there is currently only an accusation and a charge of a crime to be levelled. Until it is actually said that the channel's party is guilty, then for intents and purposes, no crime has occurred. Same with Ms Corby - had she not been found guilty, there would be no crime.

Herding cats - ARGH!

At work last week. Apparently delayed as they had to add a strain at the last minute.
Chemist Warehouse has been advertising for a while that they have it. I asked at the Drs a couple of weeks ago and they said wait a bit as there was a new one being released.

If they knew, or reasonably knew a crime was about to be committed wouldn't this be 'accessory before the fact'?

I made hamburgers tonight, but no hamburger buns, or rolls, or bread product of any type in the house... so off to the supermarket I go.

This living frugally thing really isn't good for me.

But I'm sure there was enough lubricant available to help ease it down!

I saw an ad yesterday from Chemists Warehouse, quoting availability of both strains of vaccine - let's say Strain A $20 and Strain B $25. Absolutely no recollection of pricing but there's the GP bill saved.

Started my job hunting properly a bit more than a week ago. So far things have been good, and was put forward for a very large international entertainment company, One of the UKs biggest Telcos and a very well known high end fashion brand. Plus called about a few other roles that I declined to proceed with.

Haven't heard back about the first, Second was only yesterday and I presume there's internal company red tape, and I'm up to 2nd interview stage for the third.

Biggest issue about the third one though is that the hours are based on US time - so early afternoon start, late night finish Mondays-Fridays. But I actually think I can handle that type of role at the moment...

I just had a thought re the alleged payment by 60 Minutes. If they paid the mother 'for her story' as is quite common in the media world and she used that to pay CARI are they technically correct in saying they didn't pay for the retrieval? Was there a middleman in there somewhere? Splitting hairs I know.
