I just had a thought re the alleged payment by 60 Minutes. If they paid the mother 'for her story' as is quite common in the media world and she used that to pay CARI are they technically correct in saying they didn't pay for the retrieval? Was there a middleman in there somewhere? Splitting hairs I know.

I doubt the Lebanese court would care ;)

As they were allegedly fully aware of the kidnap attempt (remember they were there filming allegedly), they would or at least should have been aware of the intended purpose of any payment.

Flu vaccine is free for me (age) and my GP bulk bills. That's a win/win for me.

Exercise is difficult. Painful and long lasting.

Can't exercise in morning as that would tire me and couldn't function at work. Can't exercise at night as I am too tired from work.

And to be honest with you I have this suspicion that the more you exercise the more you need to burn. That's not what I want. I want to eat less. It should be possible. I have done it before. I can do it again.

How do you feel about swimming/walking around in a pool?

As you are effectively 'weightless' then there is no impact for any joints PROVIDED:
  1. You DO NOT do breast stroke kick = a destructive joint movement aka whiplash.
  2. You DO NOT try a massive/rapid push-off from the end of the pool each lap.

As long as you don't do either of those then it should start to make a positive improvement.

The first training session for virtually any team sports group post-match = In the pool.

If, like me, you never inherited the 'swim-like-a-fish' genes - then set yourself a challenge like getting the pool entry cost down to some amount per lap.

Say (at first) $1 a completed lap. The time taken does not matter.

A positive side effect from swimming is that it trains you in breathing more efficiently (getting more oxygen out of each breath in), and is particularly good for asthmatics.

First time in a pool after many years - saw me have 6 stops along the way to finishing the 50m lap. "I don't want to drown" breath "I don't want to drown..." is an effective mantra!

Cost per lap from that outing was close to $2.

Anybody know if the flu vaccine is at the GP's yet?

You can get it at Chemists. I rang my GP practice yesterday and they said they didn't have it yet, but to ring by the end of this week. So don't worry, whatmeworry

Firstly I do not have any free time in Brisbane and not giving up golf in Sydney.

Secondly I used to be able to swim but haven't been in the water since 18 years old. Not game to try. Also scared that muscles/ligaments will stop functioning at a crucial time. Yes they do get extremely sore and not just the ones carrying the weight.

Best way to lose weight is to eat less. I was doing it wrong before even though I was counting the calories. Seem to be losing weight with this diet version.

I will probably get my at Chemist Warehouse. As flu jab prices have come down, I hope more of us get the flu vaccine to provide herd immunity for those that can't get the vaccine.

I'm getting mine at Chemist Warehouse on the way home from work today. About $12.00.
I don't see the point in wasting the GP's time.

The way my GP practice operates the shot is administered by the practice nurse. There must be a doctor on duty to "supervise". Because I have had a serious illness and am also over 65, I get it for free. Even when I had to pay, it was worth every penny!

I was asking in regards to my parents (over 65's). They got received their jabs today. I booked into Chemist warehouse for the Quadrivalent vaccine for $11.99.

I've been looking at fridges and the specs shows dimensions in the order L x W x H. The architect has the order differently...W x L x H.

According to Brisbane times, appears the 60 mins crew is in way over their head...

Channel Nine reporter Tom Steinfort said the crew were facing four charges:

hiding information
forming an association with two or more people to commit a crime against a person
kidnapping or holding a minor even with their approval
physical assault

If convicted they face jail terms of three to 20 years.

When my parents built their house, they planned a fridge space based on their existing fridge. Except the builder/architect forgot about the skirting boards.

I was happy to swap my small fridge for a nice big new one. ;)

A few years ago while in the LOTFAP, we discovered LLBean. After searching Myers, David Jones and other Australian stores for shorts and other stuff, we found greater choice at LLBean so decided to purchase some from LLBean online. One can specifiy the length of jeans for example, which one can't do here and I always have to take them up. Goods arrived by courier 4 days later, quicker than ordering from interstate. Most impressed. It's easy to see why DJ's and Myer are dinosaurs these days.

Have just discovered a rather disturbing nexus. For some months after dinner have been subject to feeling like I have a very mild fever, accompanied by a negligible temp rise and a florid complexion, even after only minimal wine consumption.

Now believe that this is caused by even very small amounts of alcohol, as little as 20 ml of scotch or less than 1 glass of wine. Don't know what the underlying cause is but this is tragedy considering my large and full wine fridges.

Will have to see if my doc can tweak whatever is wrong on return to Oz.

So I'm on a very dry holiday - not happy. :(

Does your florid face extend over your cheeks and nose but not chin? Achy joints? How about being in the sun? Do you feel unwell after a while?

Could also be a reaction to the alcohol itself which would be rather sad.

Certainly over cheeks, nose, forehead, ears - haven't noticed the chin, but at the same times hands are very white and cold like blood is withdrawn from extremities, anyway am not going to have any more alcohol until I can get this sorted out on return to Oz. Very annoying.
