This morning I’m having a delicious breakfast at a local Melbourne cafe called McDonald’s, though I’m not sure what all the hype is about the coffee, I found it sickly sweet. :p

Ah, gourmet dining at it's best!

Saying that, right now I could kill for a bacon and egg mc-cough-muffin.

Greetings from LHR, having my second brekky at the BA Arrivals Lounge - killing time here till it's closer to check in time at the Sanderson.

+1 greetings from LHR, albeit airside. Feeling a bit rancid at the moment; two hours sleep last night and trying to make sure that I don't fall asleep until after I'm safely aboard my flight back to MEX :-|

Well a milestone today.Our solar panels have produced 2000Kwh in 9 months.Our last 2 quarterly bills have been $33 and $7credit.Previous average $250 a quarter.

You are only giving us half the story; how much did they cost to install, is there any maintenance cost to keep them running and what is the expected life time.

And the 2 that are lounging; where is the green with envy smiley, oh this one should do it.

And what a nice post count number as well.

look forward to getting hammered with anat0l and Mal!

Well I'm still a no-go for tonight ... although after seeing a doc today, he claims I don't actually have a flu, but instead some kind of viral infection which has some of the symptoms of a flu. Still being thrown around by it though while my body tries to fight it off.

Weather for tonight is expected to be around 11 degrees - which is quite warm, but as you can tell, it's going to rain pretty much all night...

Hope you guys enjoy your drinks.

I did post the full numbers in the tony abbot post. But Total cost-$17000,Govt subsidy $8000.My cost-$9000.
Running costs-getting up on the roof and hosing them down occasionally.
25 year quarantee.
saving ~$900 per year.Though next January a significant rise in input tariff.
So 10 years pay off the principal. An accountant can probably give me an IRR but it makes financial sense to me.

I wish my parents could install them but our body corporate is slightly cough retentive and doesn't want anything on anyones roof that would look different from the golf course. Of course, I don't think the panels would even face the course optimally, but that's life.

How big is the panel?

Speaking of Tony Abbott... karens bumped into him @ CBR yesterday.

Well, after just over a month in Europe, it's time to head back over.

First stop is HKG, a few days there, then a short stop in MEL, followed by a hop over the Tasman to NPE for another Do.

Currently in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in LHR T3. Absolutely stunning lounge - not over the top on the wow effects - just enough to give a nice lift in an otherwise well fitted lounge.

There are about a dozen staff at the bar - looks like the lounge just isn't busy enough right now, so it's a good time for a bit of goss. A couple of them look hot... :p :D

It sounds like a good investment. But in my case nearly all the roof space facing north is already covered by the pool solar heating system, so I doubt I would have the space remaining for solar electricity panels :(. And in 10 years time I expect 3 out of 4 Minis will have departed the nest leaving us with 5 empty bedrooms, so we will likely be looking to downsize the energy consuming size of the abode. Though I guess such installation should increase the resale value of the property somewhat.

Only another 4767 more posts after this one till we reach the magic 10,000 figure.
BTW In case anyone is interested I found homes for all of the kittens that were dumped on my doorstep the other day.

Jetstar truly is terrible in Melbourne. In Sydney they would take my bag 4 hours before checkin, but in Melbourne the evil dragon insists they can't take my bag off me until 2 hours prior to departure. So I also can't go through to the lounge. And it's not just me, there's now a big line of disgruntled pax waiting to drop their bags.

I tried to chance it and go to a desk but they said my bag would end up in launceston. What a load of BS. And because I was directed to use a machine, the bag tag is already attached so why I can't just leave it with them I don't know.

I'll fly JQ again, but not with luggage.

Yes those JQ staff at MEL are precious little darlings arent they.Even if you are 5 minutes early it is back to the end of the queue.Hard to judge it.

Only 10 more minutes till I can go through security and now there's a line. Wow they time things well.

Ha Ha...You're probably in line for a shock.. if people I know are any guide!

I was surprised to find myself on an A321-231 back to the coast. Hadn't noticed before, but do all JQ's seat buckles feature a motif of a bird or just on the A321?

I've now added QF009 to the list of AFF'ers I've caught up with in London... thanks QF009 for the catchup - and yep, Lantana does serve great coffee and food. I'll have to keep it in mind when I'm in that area of London again.

(Which reminds me, I still owe you a drink or two - I'll have to remember for next time.. don't let me forget!).

Good luck with the rest of the travels before heading home.

And that there completes the mini-AFF DO! :p
