I was peckish on Sunday night. Grabbed a packet of 2 minute noodles and saw 326 calories and put them back.

For me fetta cheese and tomato is a filling snack with almost a third of the calories.

I don't count calories. I was also referring to the dinner meal, not a snack.

Just posted a picture of a beer on social media. Someone said it was just what the doctor ordered.
 That works on 2 levels it's the $@&# doctors that are driving me to drink.

I find lolly bananas way too sweet. Raspberries? Eat in one go. But fruchocs are my true killers.

I'm not suggesting I eat them all in one go!
No? That's your story and you're sticking to it? :)

Think it might take me several weeks to get through that many. They're a bit sweet for my taste but I never let that stand in the way.

Actually I do rather like the old milk bottles (not the ones in paper but the ones shaped like a milk bottle). Don't like Minties or those chewy kinds.

I had to look up fruchocs, Pushka. Never heard of them before - they seem to be a SA speciality.

When you read the food labels it is amazing how much sugar and salt is added to food that don't need it added.

But interestingly, when the companies try and reformulated products to reduce sugar, salt and artificial colours etc, there is such a consumer backlash about it!

I always had a weakness for chocolate stars (or were they supposed to be called chocolate whirls) or freckles. I haven't had them in years however and I'm not sure who sells them now.

There is an odd number of Tim Tams in a packet?? Never noticed, they ALL go to me.

They are a recognised South Aussie icon. Will bring them to our cruise. :p

I've always had more of a "savoury" palate, but that hasn't stopped me becoming a bit overweight. It's quantity as much as quality.

Apparently wine has calories too, which is just the most inconvenient thing ever.

All is not lost... A member of this forum (who will remain nameless) once told me to try and get 150 mins of exercise per week (including walking), and since achieving that goal consistently I have lost 10Kgs from the heaviest point.

(150 mins sounds like a lot, but it's 30 mins, 5 days per week)

Try dividing up a packet of tim tams equally ....

Apparently the odd number is so that there is "always one left for mum"....

What *is* cunning is that the "specialty" Tim Tams have just 9. The plain, last time I checked, have 11.

When it's just you and 3 kids, and you are counting the calories, you get the fancy ones - 3 biscuits each, and you can sit on the sidelines. Buy the plain ones, and there's "two left for Dad". :-)

Chocolate whirls are not made by the main brands - see them ocassiinally under home brand labels but the choc quality is pretty average.

Freckles are made by Allens.

Yes, I think the chocolate quality has changed over the years which is one reason I stopped eating them.

As kids we called Chocolate Whirls, Chocolate stars but it looks like Chocolate Whirls is the right name.

Chocolate Whirls 8kg - CHOCOLATE

We also used to buy mixed bags as well.

Chocolate Mix 1kg - CHOCOLATE

With all this talk of chocolate and lollies tonight I'm amazed I haven't raided the pantry and the fridge searching for supplies. I ate 2 packets of original flavour TimTams last week and finished a block of Cadbury chocolate over the weekend. I've got a packet of TV snacks in the pantry but I'm hoping to use these at a party in a couple of months. I've been trying to be good this week but I don't know how long this will last.

Pushka - Don't tell everyone. Fruchocs are supposed to be a prohibited export. Well at least that is what I tell my interstate friends when they ask for more!;)

Actually Coles now stock them in Vic.

I know them as chocolate buttons.

Oh Carp. There goes quality control. Although - given Coles predilection to only stocking what the main cities want here in Adelaide, its surprising Coles sell them here.
