Oops not good

Sometimes when you set something in motion it just ends up more complicated. Texted a photo to the contractor whom of course said the tube had dislodged. Umm. Nope. The water is coming from behind and underneath. Is coming out tomorrow (Sunday). If they play 'not our fault' I might just say I will contact the Insurer. Because this water damage would also be covered in our policy but they would not be impressed with the contractor. Pretty sure their contract would not be worth it.

MasterP (refrigerator apprentice) thinks either the cooling compressor failed internally causing pooling of water underneath that overflowed instead of being pumped out or the condenser water pump failed.

Number 1 son only slept for max of four hours at a time in the night up to the age of 18 months. Then decided to be awake for the next 2 hours despite our efforts at keeping room dark and quiet. I read every book possible and came to the conclusion I must be doing something wrong. One night at 18 months of age he slept the night. As soon as I woke I was in a panic thinking the worst and I woke him!

Number 2 had read the books. Classic sleeper. Realised then I had done nothing wrong in the first place and that all kids are different.
I must have done something really wrong as all 3 of mine never slept as babies and then were quite wakeful as toddlers. I can remember with the first going to the paediatrician for a checkup (all 3 were early with the first two 6 weeks early) and mentioning that Dr FM was usually wide awake from 5am to midnight, with maybe 1/2 hr sleep if I was lucky. He looked at me in horror and said was she crying all that time. I replied no she was very happy and just liked to be cuddled and look around. He said "oh that's fine then"and I thought to myself - no its not I am going crazy!

I really didn't know anything about babies - they were brought up with baby in one hand, Penelope Leach in the other. Unfortunately they just didn't follow the manual :)

JohnK, this is very good advice. My apologies for not quoting this earlier but been busy moving houses.

Google can be a particularly nasty place for new parents, as some of the results can be forums pushing their own agenda.
You are never fully ready to be a parent, it is a learning curve and that includes each and every child.

But saying that, it is very rewarding none-the-less.
Don't trust Google. It's only a guide.

In saying that daughter has a mind of her own. Trying our best but can be difficult to attend to her needs all the time like yesterday when we are trying to check out of hotel. She wants a feed at that exact time.

She's too cute to ignore. ;)

I remember Penelope Leach - her book had gorgeous drawings of babies. My copy was well thumbed especially with No 1 baby. From memory it was quite a good guide and not as restrictive as Dr Spock whose book was also in vogue.

Penelope Leach was my idol. Shame she wasn't writing about my number 1 son also.

I can hear a neighbours roof coming off.

Well since my neighbour's fence blew over in the wind earlier this week, at least that's not going to be one of the things.

There's debris everywhere - if you have a place to garage your car, I hope you've done it! Thankfully, the bay tree in our backyard already fell over this winter, everything else seems pretty sturdy, but I'm over the extreme weather!
