Sydney was one of the few places that offered Vet Sci in 2000, so not a lot of choice. It did mean she could take her horse with her in fourth year and board him out at Camden as she they did 6 months there and then again in fifth year when they spent 6 months at the Vet Hospital at the main campus. In her day there was a fair bit of equine work. They also had to work on farms for something like 8 weeks a year in vacation (maybe more) with a list of the types of properties they had to work on, 2 weeks beef, 2 weeks dairy, 2 weeks alpaca/deer, 2 weeks pigs etc. The whole fifth year was spent in practice, working with vets, but of course no pay. She did a fair bit of that out of Canberra though the set up was pretty poor with you having to move to a new practice every 4 weeks so you never really could get your teeth into anything. It was better when they spent the time at the Syd Vet Hospital as that was longer.CSU Wagga is a 6 year hybrid. Vet Biology Vet Science. You can exit some years in with some qualification but not Vet Sci.
Will be a bit of travel I suppose between home and WGA. There is an airport or a 5 hour drive.
Yep thats what I thought. Animals are chattels with a value limit which makes it difficult for vets for large animals. The morality can be more challenging that human medicine. Simple medicine can save a life but limited if owner cant/wont pay.
Daughter wants to stream into the equine area. She seems to have a knack with horses. Shes a small frame too but seems to be able to "whisper" in its ear.
Everyone wants to do vet at SYD. But they dont really have a large animal component.
Yesterday I spent a bit of time planning our next, next, next trip... to Iceland.
As usual, its all changed, looks like we're going to Scotland to do a, Not Another Bloody Castle Tour.
Hubby found a 19 castle map guide and that Glenfiddich has 4hr tours and you get to pour your own bottle/select your own cask.
Im so getting him a Bloody Castle Tour tshirt.

Is there a link to that map????
No of course in the correct thread with all the other loverly feline friendsNot in this thread, of course
Yes, I know how that works. Daughter was very keen on going to a school in Armadale when she was young as you could take your horse and compete etc etc.CSU said to daughter on Uni information night that she could take her horse with her to CSU WGA and board it there. Immediately she was sold.
I think the "take your own horse" thing was a romantic marketing ploy that caters for the predominantly female student cohort.
Of course the role of the parent is to provide some reality into the conversation. In the end she agreed that having the horse at CSU will be more of a hassle than back home in SYD.

Do they come in boxers?
And you could stay at Balmoral Castle in a cottage or house - they have them for rent. I did it with a friend a few years agoThere is a pdf link to the map brochure.

I like how I can drive over there and it seems reward flights via VA/EY are available to Edinburgh.
As we are that far north, Glenfiddich is a must. If I have to see that many castles, I might have to start drinking.
Hey GarrettM did you run into one of our rellies when you were getting the vodka and whisky? He is Ben.
I can go an icy vodka. I bought the vanilla one.
The 707 at $480....when it was about $100 about a decade ago.
but let me assure you that these will be known as the good old days too some time into the future.

I buy my black work socks, and my white casual socks in batches of 15 or 20 pairs. Makes choosing what to wear on any day simple!
