Denali - sorry for your loss. At the family gathering after my Poppa's funeral earlier this year, there was a lot of whisky polished off with the 3 of us coming in from AU all clutching the maximum allowances.

IKEA was something different today. Very busy but not easy to navigate the labyrinth with everyone dawdling around.

Still can't complain. A $119 single spring mattress and 2 firm pillows for $8.99 each was a bargain. Wife and daughter can sleep on my bed and I'll sleep on the mattress on floor and everyone is happy then. When we finish needing the mattress we can donate to some shelter if still in good condition.

Oh and $1 hot dog was a bonus. ;)

Maybe a separate ward for prisoners if hospital treatment necessary. Certainly not turfing people out of rooms once they have been settled in. Then sticking them in a mixed ward of 6 just to rub salt esp when there were empty wards right next door in same speciality. Given there are guards in casualty and people handcuffed to beds in open sight then hospital patients are pretty much used to seeing it.
IF the new RAH ever opens it won't be an issue as all rooms are single.

Thats what Transforming Health in SA is all about, savings in all and sundry so New RAH can be paid for.
Flew over New RAH several times on commercial flights, very flash looking place, that New RAH.

All I will say is if you live in SA, research and read up about what the SA government is doing to the public health system and make up your own minds. Talk to your friends who work in the public system and ask questions. Personally, I have grave concerns for the SA public health system.

Hi Poochie, haven't seen you recently. Have you been busy? Think you will be flying again soon from memory.

Shame it wont be open for another year, even though the building is finished and fitted out. :o

Transforming health. I have not heard one 'hands on' Medico who does not hold grave fears. And I know a few.

Liked generally all over the world, loathed in the US in places like Miami. Would like to see who from the US government attends funeral...maybe Obama.

Bill Gates at Sydney airport today... If I knew, I would have given my friend my XP laptop and asked her to ask him to fix it :p

Or tell him how much I hate windows 8+ and how none of my purchased software doesn't work on it.

Phoned Foxtel, advised very very nicely (as theres no need to be otherwise) that with PS4 and Netflix and Stan ect, Im wondering why we have Foxtel and Im thinking of leaving but can they upgrade me to iQ3 and waive the $225 fee and I go back on contract (Im currently out of contract).

Answer is no, "they are a commercial business and fees are not waived"

Fine, can I speak to someone about cancelling my account please?

Put through to someone and as I suspected, "Why are you cancelling your account"?

I explain, get told "That was a bit rude, wasnt it", he presses a few buttons and confirms that yes, I can have a free upgrade to iQ3 and it will be delivered this week and Im still not locked into a contract.

Left feeling WHYYYYY did I know that is how this exact scenario would play out. Why not just say yes with my initial contact.

I did the Foxtel cancel thing a couple of years ago. Successfully. Must be time to do it again now that 'A place called home' has finished. Bet that GoT is on the same station though. :(

And our Tivo died on the weekend.... very sad.

Farewell Tivo. Only my husband used you but he loved you very much.

Pretty common, normally only the retentions team can make such offers.

On a completely unrelated note - I think this week must be a new record for me; cleared nearly 80 hours of actual work time and that doesn't include the time spent travelling to and from EDI. Better get some sleep now, back at it in the morning!

I'm sure it pales in comparison to some of the hours drron put in during his earlier days as a Dr though and that makes my mind boggle! I really don't know how you did it.
