I'd like to post a big "thank you" to the Southern states for sending us your weather :);)

We just love 40° here...not

Interesting day today:

1. As usual if I am in Oz I am working - had to deliver an item to 4 Pin Oak Crt, Vermont South, VIC this morn - no biggie - loaded up and headed over there - 38mins from office - when I turn into Pin Oak Crt there are a group of people wandering around with cameras taking pics and a dude in a high viz vest waving his arms and pointing and yabbering. I pulled up - opened side door and proceed to unload - dude comes over and says can you move van as I am parked incorrectly - he was smartly told he was no copper and van staying put until item delivered. Customer wanders over and takes delivery and hands me the cash - I ask 'What's this dudes caper?' - 'Oh he is a security guard - they are here 24/7 - this is the street where they film Neighbours!' I had no idea - I still hold zero interest - apparently street is awash with never ending stream of 'tourists' - particularly Poms.

2. Over Xmas beer fridge in garage dies - intolerable - so we go looking for new fridge with ice maker built in - make decision and buy from HN taking advantage of 5 Amex cards with offer so $500 off $3,400 fridge. When fridge arrives we install upstairs with great difficulty then ask our normal plumber come connect water supply - 'No can do - off on 3 week holiday' - bummer - desperate to try new ice maker - so the Ette contacts 2 plumbers to get quotes - 1st is $1,800 and 2nd $1,200 - WTF! She asks 1st guy why so expensive - he answers 'We are Same Day Service Plumbers' - cough she says - I called you 2 days ago and it took you 48hrs to get here - hardly same day. So we wait for normal plumber to return from vacation - he comes and connects this morning - total fee $250 - OMG! $1,800 guy was having a decent lick wasn't he?

So we might see you on TV?

Hanging out in the spare room while people poke through my cupboards....

Reminds me of when we called the 24 hour breakdown service.

"No worries, we'll be there in 24 Hours".

Turn on the airconditioner and head down to the pool. When you get back it should be less toastee. They say the pool is heated but it seems pretty cool to me when I stay there.

A cold summer here with the odd warmish day. I just wish it would settle at a warm enough level my tomato plants would grow tomatoes.

Happy wandering

Fred

Aircon doing nicely now. Internet and phone also, after a little reboot.

I'd like to say we have given it to you Eastern States but its still really hot hear once the clouds cleared. Front rooms are baking hot now.

Sydney. My husband tells me that the air con is NOT on and he wont put it on... I might spend the night in the office :)
even I gave in and took pity on Mr FM and turned the air con on on Thursday night and have been running it since then. Set at 26 though, as I refuse to freeze myself. :)
