It's always amused me - mmm - not the right word but anyway, the way families go public to the media when something bad happens. In particular today - Grant Hackett. According to a sporting friend he really dislikes it when his family say something publically about him. He is currently alienated from his family so what happens? Brother goes public. Dad goes public. And today - mother blabbing about his personal break ups to the media. He is contacting them via Police so why the heck do they not use that conduit rather than blab blab blab to the idiot with the microphone who couldn't give two hoots about the guy but just wants the story.

I also find it distressing when a tragedy strikes a normal family and the family - even next of kin - is holding an interview. I would be a broken mess and the last thought would be a media interview. Guess that's why I found the whole Steve Irwin issue hard to grapple with.

If your Vodka is 40% just get it out of the freezer and it needs no mixer. I learnt that from a Russian quite a long time ago.

Oh those are your bottles in the freezer. I thought they were son number 1's. Glad I opted not to molest them.

Don't be afraid to try some GarrettM. I would doubt number one son would think it was his.
There is a heap of champagne left over from NYE as we had 6 non drinkers last year and we are going to London for our next NYE.
I hope you are enjoying Sydney's crazy summer weather.

11.15pm, husband goes to kitchen

11.16pm, I hear glass breaking

11.16.15pm, I go investigate

11.16.25pm hubby goes back to bed, leaving me to clean up.

Thanks, dear.

You didn't push him out of bed for that? :p

House was open again today, at 1.30. Just had someone walk up to the front door and try to come in. Glad I locked the screen door. Asked if I could help and she says 'it says it's open'. Sorry but you missed it by an hour...

Definitely sticky. I miss Kalgoorlie summer. Just a dry roasting hear that strips the skin from flesh. That's my ideal.
Given its our last night I might have to open one of those bottles. I had planned to leave you a couple new ones.but I'll think of something else now.

Plenty of books on my tablet, but I like looking at my shelves as they expand. And I like holding a book. Plus when I use public transport for my commute I prefer to read from page rather than screen. Better for eyes and general health.
I like variety in both books and media. I am currently reading two books on my iPad, 3 "real" books and 1 audio book. Audio books are terrific when doing mundane tasks, such as exercises, house work or even decorating Christmas trees.

If I am travelling for an extended period I pretty much take ibooks, but when we went to Langkawi last year I hauled along some paper books. Somehow work better when outdoors.

Although I cleaned our huge numbers of novels last year I still have over a thousand!

By 2027 the retirement age will be in the 70 plus range unless we want to impoverish the younger folks with higher taxes.

Don't try driving a car in Adelaide CBD for the next month. Gridlock. Fringe Festival. Car race stuff for next 3 weeks. WOMAdelaide. G&R tonight. Adele. Festival of Arts. Glad I'm spending time in MEL on trains and trams. Our Public transport is awful.

What is public transport? I think many people who live in regional areas have a smile when they read of city people complaining about public transport.
