Oh. That is good news I guess. Another phase begins. 90 days is excellent.

That's fantastic in one way but means you will need to really get into gear to find a new place. 90 days is not too bad for you - certainly better than something much shorter.

We are moving in with mum in the short term to give us time to sort ourselves out and hopefully find a place. We wanted to be out by mid-May anyway so 90 days suits us. I just have no idea how we're going to get everything out...the roof it full of junk, two sheds, plus all the contents. Luckily lots of the stuff is mums so hers to sort out rather than ours.

What did you accept... 10% above what you thought or more? Were the apps \ agents on the money for the price accepted? I'd wait to the deposit cheque clears before starting the move.

By 2027 the retirement age will be in the 70 plus range unless we want to impoverish the younger folks with higher taxes.

Nah let's give the top end of town (including banks) a generous tax cut, because as we know, none of that will get shifted offshore.

We're the tenants, we didn't accept anything.

Well blackcat20 I am thinking your mum may have picked very close to the top of the Melbourne housing market. Great timing is what I am thinking. History will tell us if that decision to sell was a good one.

Most business are based in Australia so let's penalise them shall we?

Don't think you're far wrong. Not great for those of us who need to buy though

No one can explain how large companies (whether they reside in Australia or not) not paying their fair share of tax will actually benefit Australia as a whole.

Even a small business getting a x% tax cut can't guarantee they will employ more.

All these small business receiving incentives and the such... I see so many small business people driving Mercs (built overseas) thanks to the Federal government.

All I can see is a slide to the bottom by governments worldwide, to accommodate unethical large corporations.

Seriously? How can you know the merc drivers are small business owners? That's anecdotal at best. Incentives? Details. Small business employs almost half of the employees employed in private industry. And 44% of total employment. Treat them with respect.

Being semi-rural we get mail deliveries on MWF (3 days/week). I have been told that the reason we get almost no mail on Mondays is that the distribution center in Perth doesn't work on the weekends. So the overnight on Sunday night to the south doesn't see a lot of mail.

Happy wandering

Fred
Consider yourself lucky. We live 3 km from our post office and don't get any deliveries. The postie even rides past our place.

Go figure.

Have you picked a new place to live TV? I don't know much about Melbourne other than South Melbourne, Saint Kilda, Southbank and Heidelberg. I found Portsea recently. Rents in Melbourne don't seem to be quite as tough as Sydney but nothing as low as Perth right now.
