I had a parcel sent back to where it came from in the UK as unknown address. It was to my PO Box so hardly unknown. I got the sender to resend it adding my home address to the label. It was eventually delivered to my PO Box wit the new address label. I peeled it off to find the one underneath was quite correct. Maybe it is OCR software (mis)-reading the labels?
My husband was home all day yesterday. Apparently (which I doubt) aussie post knocked on our door to delivery a parcel and left a card in our box. The card/parcel name is not our name.
There were complaints before Christmas that contractors were just shoving cards in letter boxes rather than trying to deliver the parcels. Australia Post said that the contractors had been very busy but I note they did not say the practice was not happening. My husband was home all day yesterday. True, and there have been instances where whole piles of letters have been found discarded, presumably from a lazy postie's sack. The non-delivery issue has been happening for years....

The only books I buy now are Stephen King, everything else is Kindle now.
ALL of my books are kindle. Makes a huge difference to packing !!
Oh, watching an American program about the Ghan. The Australian speakers are subtitled!
Sometimes I wish I had retired at the same time as my brother...
Two of my favourite Uk-based bands (The Housemartins and The Beautiful South) playing in London (well Hull actually) later this year..with one of my brothers favourite musicians Billy Bragg.

*Sigh* - only another 10 years....
I saw my first kindle on a Junk Boat in Vietnam - an American had the very first one, way back in 2008. I had to have one and ordered immediately they were available in Australia in 2009. Amazon supplied a cable only and most chargers available then wouldnt charge it. Since then I have updated occasionally but havent done so for a couple of years now. Books take up so much room and on the Ipad the travel books are fabulous. My SIL refuses to get a kindle, she is into the feel of the book. She keeps giving me all her books even though she knows I only read the kindle so I can change font size etc. Classic case of denial.
I am currently collecting books from that Cereal promotion for my little nephew. For kids I think the hard copy is still preferable.
