Imelda doesn't part with her shoes unless broken

I'm hearing you!

Except my +1, its sneakers. Kid you not, at last count 130 pairs, including 10 or 15 she has never worn! Probably of the remainder, she might have worn half of them only once.

We moved into a new apartment last year, I suggested she donate some to clear some space. Her reply, was maybe I should? After all was said and done in the confusion of moving. I discovered she did get rid of some. She gave 1 (yes one pair) to her god-daughter! I've given up!

I've been saving this, for the first game back at North Sydney Oval, for a few years.

Not in my wardrobe; cant stand black pants. Deliberately avoided any job where I'd need to wear them...

Alas that color seems standard for wear in community choirs, orchestras and bands. At least up until this point my dark navy hasn't been noticed but the supplied jacket doesn't seem to quite match...

Happy wandering

I got rid of 13 suits when I moved house and did my big clean out. I can't believe I had that many!

I would think in Aus you need quite a few as given the warmer climes they'd be rotating in at the dry cleaner quite often. I have 10 at the moment and that feels about right, means I have a 2 week rotation and gives enough time for them to return from the dry cleaner. Still very much needed in the UK I find, especially working in banking. Not many people dress down.. At least ties are more or less gone these days! Have about 30 of those...

I probably should have said "black pants", as in any sort of work pant. Theyre uncomfortable and they never have pockets. I'm much happier wearing jeans to work.

These days if I need a tie to wear I would try to get one from one of my sons. I do have a suit and a black cashmere jacket if I get caught in some social dress up. I did get quite a few wool trousers from last years Nordstrom sale where they were specially tailored for me. Naturally if I add or subtract 15 kgs my plan could get shattered. To avoid the add ons I have to watch what I eat. Have recently figured weight gain can occur with eating a lot and I realise I am really good at eating.

<snip>
I still own about 40 ties. Complete waste, I wear a suit & tie a handful of times per year, only when absolutely necessary (e.g. compulsory dress code, ceremonial occasions, etc). Usual work attire these days is tailored trousers (or chinos), and a clean pressed "business" shirt.

I'm developing a collection of ties. No idea why. Sometimes I like to wear one and sometimes it's the worst concept in the world.

<snip>.

Even though I cleaned out my suits (to one) years ago, I kept the tie collection. It doesn't take up much room and I get a nostalgia kick from time to time.

I think 30 to 40 ties remain, from geez... how did I ever wear that! .. to fond memories of corporate junkets and après work assignations, to ... HA! I remember that red wine stain!! .

Nothing like a nice silk tie.

A silk tie always looks great on the other person. I have pretty much exempted myself from wearing a tie even at weddings and funerals and I am not expecting a call from Phil nor Lizzie when I am in London. All we get are scammers calls.

How to spend a Wednesday evening...... going to a 1080 bait lecture and then sitting the exam. Nice catch up with the neighbours.

You used 1080 on the neighbours?

Only 1 little s*** of a neighbour that has not grown up yet and feels the need to speed and hoon down the dirt road. I have been known to stay walking right in the middle of the road - just to make him slow right down - until I "oh - there is a car!! " moment.
Our properties are surrounded on 3 sides by national park, and the wild dogs are getting a bit out of control. I don't intend to bait, just wanted to know the ins/outs of it, and what to expect if a domestic animal eats the bait.
About 30 neighbours attended, so it was a good roll-out.
