Wondering why on earth people put their empty but still-dirty lunch containers back in the fridge.... some days I can pull out multiple containers and even more empty plastic bags

Went to lunch room to fill water drink bottle and started reading the paper standing.

- first person walks in and sits down and starts eating soup from some sort of metal container using metal spoon scraping the bottom of the container to get the soup and then slurping the soup
- second person comes in sits down to read the paper with headphones on and using chopsticks to slurp dry noodles and then smack lips loudly while chewing

I hate being in public with people who have disgusting eating habits. I miss the days where people were considerate of others when eating in public. Long gone.

Well this is normal for some demographics.

I was laughed at in China because "you white people eat too polite and are afraid to make mess."

Forget the whole horrible PR for the airline, how upset the mother must have been in this situation but do people really request that "her daughters wish was to have her ashes spread across the sea in Hawaii, the South of France, off the coast of Venice Italy and off the coast of Australia". WHO is doing all this spreading? Sounds exhausting.

American Airlines sued by grieving mother for losing daughter’s ashes

A guy is flushing his mates ashes at various baseball stadiums.

From the article it seems the bag was found and returned (I assume with the ashes). What is it about people that want to sue for everything? There seems to be a bit of a 'he said, she said' here in relation to whether the airline knew she was carrying her daughter's ashes. And I am not necessarily believing all I am reading - something just seems a bit fishy IMO. As to not listing the urn because she couldn't put a $ value on it, would you not just list it without? After all it was the important thing in the bag I would have thought.

Anything that has Kirralie Smith's name linked to it should be approached with suspicion.

She is of the anti Islam and anti halal movement and is rather unpleasant in some of her views.
She just shared the fellow's facebook post.

Good to see the Davis Cup is a little more local this time - looks like we're off to Belgium to indulge in some lovely Belgian beers and a spot of indoor clay court tennis.

Just been informed our house will settle on the 19th. We return to Oz late on the 14th.

Going to be a close thing, with packing, work, and everything else.

Still no formal approval on new abode, and getting a bit titchy with the thought of being "homeless".

Better make the most of the next few days while we can, before reality comes along to kick us in the teeth.

So how long has that been, since you signed initial contracts?

Probably right on six weeks. The thing of it is the original settlement date was due to be early June, but we asked if it could be brought forward slightly.

However the new date seems to be for the convenience of the buyer, and wasn't presented to us as anything other than a fait accompli. The wife has emailed to question our agent.

Our preference was the 24th of May or so. Gives us a whole extra weekend to deal with things.

We think we've been shafted here somewhat.

I didnt think the buyer could just decide when settlement would be....

Ours settles next week. I'll be glad to have it all over and done with.
