Well we were actually homeless for one night, with our place settling today, right about the time we were notified of our finance approval. It's been an incredibly stressful week, and we won't be able to move our stuff in until Sunday now. But meh.

Discussions on the financial end have actually now turned to compensation for how we've been treated by the bank. Possibilities include at least doubling the reward points on offer, fee waivers, lower than marketed interest rate, or some combination of all three.

We'll see what transpires.

Enjoy your new digs GarrettM.
if you do more frequent flyer points put anything over 250,000 into a second name.
Could this be the points for trip?

I'm confused. Rolf Harris is serving a jail term for abuse convictions. He's now facing further charges. So why is he on bail?

Because the additional charges haven't been proven? He's eligible for bail on his current sentence. They've likely decided he isn't a flight risk.

You don't get bail if you've been convicted and jailed - its called parole. Maybe they have different terminology in the UK.

Sorry my bad. Misread your post. he's on parole for the current charges, and bail for the new ones. He'll be on bail to appear to answer the new charges. Different from parole.

Yep. I know the difference between parole and bail being a former cop but I hadn't heard any media use the word parole, just bail. Which made no sense given up until yesterday he was in jail based on the conviction.

Here's a link to an article by the Telegraph in the UK - refers to parole: Rolf Harris cannot be denied parole despite mocking victims in prison song - Telegraph

So what happened by the looks of it was that he was due for release (on parole) but because he had charges pending, he had to be bailed on those (otherwise he'd have to stay in custody). So he was actually able to leave prison because of bail (but he's on parole, as well)

Now that makes more sense. Just did a quick google and couldn't find a reference to parole anywhere. Thanks.

This is Mary, Mary has rung every member of her family to let them know that she's off to America (again) for three weeks, and that she got one of those travel passes again so she can still ring everyone.

Don't be a Mary

I thought one of these was appropriate just had to wait until the weekend to find it.

When I told my niece that I wish she would break out and see more of the world, moving to Albury Wodonga was not what I meant!

So he's on bail, on parole, on charges, and guilty (of prior charges).

Fair to say the only thing he's not, is innocent.

Rolf Harris artwork was not on display when I went to a school reunion last year. I guess he has been white washed out of our school history.

Annie show in London opens on May 23rd and tickets seem to be super scarce. May have to get the tickets from a reseller. Sure it is an old show but there are some stars playing in it.
