Every year I torture my husband when he asks what I would like for my birthday with, "I want a Burberry bag".

2 weeks ago he said "Maybe we'll get you that Burberry bag for your birthday this year".

Me: You are NOT spending that much money on a hand bag!

Poor guy, cant win.
And people wonder why guys are confused? :(

Remember the opening times relate to the opening of the first ride. The resort gates open a lot earlier. If you are the first ones there you will be behind the rope held by 2 attendants. The rope goes to the first ride open for the day.

We did 9 consecutive space mountain rides without queuing before the main crowd arrived.
As I'm not into rides I was the fastpass coordinator - getting all the fastpass as the opportunity arises. Often at the other side of the park. We had maximum rides for minimum queue.

Also you will never see Mickey at any of the breakfast with the characters - these are a con and is just a way of spreading out the crowds through the park.

Also note that the DW park where it's on an island and you have to get a paddle steamer across to the park. The paddle steamer is outside the park. There will be a queue to to get past the ticket turnstiles, then a queue tto get on the paddle steamer and then you queue to get into resort.

Get there 1 hour before official opening and you should be OK.
Well aware of all the proceedures. This is actually our 4th trip to DW.Also I think 3 times to Anaheim as well as HKG and Japan.
Also this will be the second time in a Disney resort-was actually quite cheap the first time a little over 30 years ago.

I was thinking at least 6 years old before taking her to the USA theme parks as I want her to have memories. Hong Kong Disneyland is a good idea and is close by.

Oh wow. Didn't realise they were that expensive. They really know how to gouge.

Oh and hope that includes tip. ;)

Park tickets are very expensive!! The customer service from all cast members (aka what Disney call all staff) is excellent. We got a big customer service shock when we spent two days at the Universal parks after 5 days at Walt Disney World. No-one at Disney would ever roll their eyes and mention enduring a Minions (insert Disney reference here) dance party every 5-7 minutes like some of the Universal staff did.

And, no tipping. ;)

No tipping characters at Disney USA either. Especially when you get autographs. Unlike those NYC street "performers"

BTW anyone get 999,999 on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride?. Somehow I could never replicate it at DW. At DA (Disney Anaheim) I could get 999,999 about 1 in 3 rides. Don't remember exactly was my highest score at DW but it was less than 800k

DW = Disney World Florida

Good lord, I barely remember the ride let alone the score.

Toy Story didn't even exist last time I went to DW

Perth folks don't tend to like humidity Flashback. I always feel like a melting ice block when the weather goes high humidity.

Quite muggy here in London. Did I mention how much I don't like the heat? ;) ... and hayfever? The pollen count is much worse here than it ever was for me in Oz!
I don't like heat much either but my old bones handle heat much better than the cold.

Had some Swedish students doing a rotation to us a few years back in July. They remarked how cold their accomodation was. Thought I heard wrong - Swedes can't handle Sydney winter?. Impossible!!
It dawned on me the reason was because there is no such thing as central heating and proper insulation in Sydney unlike Stockholm or any Scandinavian house
Strange but true - on so many levels...

We had the heater repair man here and now the heater works enough to take the chill off. They'll be back tomorrow with a second hand controller. If that doesn't work then it's $3-4,000 for a new one.

Shorts and tee shirt here in SYD with obligatory feet on coffee table.
Wife completely rugged up with 2 blankets and fluffy slippers

T21C according to thermometer. Practically tropical.

I've lived in Sweden (and am a Swedish citizen).

It's true! It's colder in Australian homes than in Swedish homes.

I only needed a t-shirt and shorts when inside my home in Stockholm - at any time of the year.

There's another thread about what jacket to buy when visiting Scandinavia in winter. And if it's an urban type of visit, you need to plan for warm interiors.
