You wouldn't be 'overpaying' by having your own specialist do it. its just that if you go onto the public waitlist you are 'underpaying' because the taxpayers are subsidising you more.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone contributed the same? It's a shame some people get away with not paying enough tax.

But we also have a different issue. I pay Medicare (way more than my fair share) and I pay for private health insurance but if I do a gastroscopy I am still out of pocket around $500 because the specialist charges some obscene amount that is not in touch with reality and so does the an aenesthetist. And let's not forget the ridiculous theatre charge.

Thanks but I'll try the public system this time around.

Yes, but the comment still stands. The charges are still going to be high, but on the 'public system', I and all the other taxpayers chip in for your treatment. You're welcome  but its others, not so well off, who I usually like to support.

Just don't complain if, having waited a year or more in the public queue, you get bumped at the last minute.

But weird! We use one of Brisbane's most renowned Endoscopy practice and we never pay more than the $200 MB private excess fee. You need to change specialists.

Or change Private Health Insurance.

My wife recently went into Private Hospital to have some skin cancers cut off. The bill was thousands and we paid nothing. (We are setup with no excess as that's a well priced option with our fund.)

I don't have a specialist since moving from Sydney. Is that out of pocket including anaesthetist? I can call a few places or ask GP to recommend.

I'd spend <$200 to save a years wait. I won't spend ~$500.

They are IFR so they don't need to see where they are going.

The ice on the wings was impressive too. Though that got booted off with engine bleed air into rubber inflated boots. And the metal bits near the fairings was super heated with engine exhaust. I understand now why kero is so useful it's so energy dense. ( not when compared to coal).

The joy of being first on the call list for office security as I live the closest - one of our staff tried to access the building without knowing all the ins and outs of the system and triggered an anomaly.

Someone mentioned shoes and no socks. Apparently, a man is to look like he is still wearing the same size as when he was 15. (Uniqlo today's email)

Nope. All up no extra charges even for tea and sandwiches, except $200 MBP hospital excess. Look up services at Wesley Hospital, Brisbane Endoscopy Services, Sunnybank, North West Hospital and Chermside Day Hospital.

Taylormade M1 driver 2016 model $398, 2017 model $699. Everyone saying go for newer model. Oh that is a tough choice.

Thanks. I will follow up. I have a feeling my excess is $500 is going to spoil the party.

Having breakfast in a hotel and the woman at the next table is in her PJs - young and attractive but really

What a disappointment! Normally they are in hotel bathrobes and slippers!

Out for lunch in Concord (in Sydney - a decent suburb) the other day. Aside from the 2 men standing in the street holding a very large wad of $100 bills, there was a man walk into a cafe in his grey knee length bathrobe.

Seriously it is not that hard to pull on tracksuit pants and a tshirt!
