Saw through the window, from chest down, we had a big trick or treater but in jeans and a tee.

Walk down the hallway and he's got the most gigantic pumkin on his head, it was huge! Very impressed.

As we are semi rural we don’t get Halloween trick or treaters. Electric Gate plus long driveways on 5 acre blocks = very low Lolly hit rate. Have not had any for years. :D:D:D

We're on a busy street but still families here. Figured at least parents know our house is safe for chocs and not a lecture on how this is aust and not US.

Just had another group, all with an adult, which is good to see. This one had a cute security guard with a Harry Potter wand.

we have had about 16 kids come round. Some of the guardians were dressed up too and looked fabulous. :)

Some areas have a Halloween friendly sign outside to indicate Lollies available. Saves going to houses to annoy Non Halloween houses or houses where lollies have run out

we have a neighbourhood email group. One new resident asked a few days ago whether Halloween happened and people have been replying with their addresses if they planned to have lollies, so I think only those houses were visited. It is a good idea and I think next year I might kick it off again - it’s been heaps of fun having all the kids - last year was a bit deserted.

It's 8pm! What time are these kids bed time? Even had a few cars stop and had to open up more bags of chocolates.

Must say, all very polite, thank you from everyone.

Yes very polite - my supplies are running low, so I am hoping we are nearly finished. Just about dark now, so I am sure we are. :)

It's so weird. 363 days of the year, told don't talk to strangers, don't accept gifts, don't go to strange houses.. Except for Christmas and now, Halloween.

Those days it's sit on creepy old guys lap and go to that strange house and take sweets from random stranger.

Talk about mixed messages.

last month we took Ms FM and Dr FM to see My Fair Lady in Sydney. The tickets came with a package of assorted things including ice cream and Ms FM didn't want hers, so I said OK lets give it to one of these kids here - it was a choc top in a sealed package. Quite a few kids at the show. I thought I was doing a nice thing and brightening a kid's evening, but Ms FM got really angry with me and said security would probably evict me from the show if I tried to give kids stuff. Kind of sad really......

Halloween finiahed here. Kids visiting from around 4:30 to 7:30.

Live in inner west Sydney and high proportion of families live in the area. Rules are if you put up decorations kids will stop and trick or treat and take "one treat only".
Rigidly enforced by parent supervisors.

Some fantastic costumes and a lot of fun, real community atmosphere with a lot of kids and parents from local school so it's good to catch up.

Reckon a couple of hundred kids came to the house.

You can mock it as an American thing or embrace it and turn it Australian, which is what happens here.

I can tell you the kids (and the parents) had a ball.

Last group was about 9.15 but they were driving past and stopped so we're done for the year.

Lots of kids, all with a supervisor. Big group of young teens, taking selfies with all the led lanterns and ghosts hanging from trees. The lanterns look good in the dark.
