It is just before 4am and Mrscove is downstairs working on the jelly base for the Christmas dessert.

i normally do a huge trifle with 5 different coloured jellies, a chocolate covered ice cream log and a boiled pudding, as well as 7 doz mince pies (most of which get given away prior to Christmas). I don’t start at 4am though .

I have just remembered I have 6 jars of Huon red caviar in the Fridge. . Oh well Mr FM and I will enjoy eating it when we get back!

Wandered to a nearby resort for dinner and there is a very intense American tourist dining on his own.

He'r from Iowa, burnt out from work, he paid lots of money for his last minute flight from Dallas with QF. This is his first vacation solo ever and the good lord is keeping him safe.

He's actually a bit of a sweetie, but intense.

While the local bars were buzzing last evening , (think Byron on steroi_s),the tiny local church was packed and overflowing for a pleasant hour of Carolling...
Xmas comes ealy to sheephuggland so our scattered families are mostly still enjoying Christmas eve.

Merry Christmas AFF land. Turkey been roasting for an hour now. Took it out the fridge at 6.15am. Will take 4 hours as it’s stuffed Tried Jamie Oliver’s idea last night of using Alfoil for 2 chickens. Dismal failure or maybe the BBQ thermostat was duffed. Family meal last night just immediates then off to B and SIL for huge family gathering. Perfect weather here @29c compared with last year at 42c which was awful.

Pitch being sorted out for family cricket match after lunch. No extra baby - yet.
