Merry Christmas everybody, may all your upgrades come through and your award flights ticket early.

Ha ! this is the first time you could say that !!
Nah. I’ve been rcheekily eferring to them as that for a while now. Way before the ring.

Turkey was cooked perfectly btw. Didn’t have any though as I prefer chicken but hey, it’s Christmas.

DEF92F86-B686-4446-B837-E4167FC9DEE5.jpeg Really enjoyed the Taj restaurant for dinner. Fabulous tasting menu - the two Michelin stars well deserved. On Christmas Eve we had Brunch, did a bit of window shopping and then went to see Thor - very funny. At some point Mr FM had his wallet pick pocketed. He is usually very good about keeping it in his zipped up pants pocket, but he bought 3 bottles of water and slipped it into his coat pocket.....

Someone found the wallet (sans money) and walked up to the Taj to hand it in - Mr FM had his room cardkey in his wallet. So we have his CC, drivers licence etc. at the end of the day losing a bit of money (ok probably about $400), is not as annoying as losing the other stuff. Keeping a close eye on txns just in case. Hope whoever took the money really needed it.

At the Admirals Club in SFO now - they are serving Prosecco so will get some in awhile, then plan to pop into the Flagship lounge in LA for some Bollinger before making our way to the Qantas J lounge. Not a bad way to spend Christmas Day. :). Master FM is on his way back to Mountain View where he has some relationship issues to sort out.

Hope the lounge in LAX is better than the J lounge in Sydney! Been years since I have visited it and it was quite bad. Basically the same as a J domestic lounge with ice cream. That doesn’t worry me (although having spent 12K each on airfares you would think the lounge would be a bit better!). The killer was the state of the toilets - one didn’t flush properly so it was filthy. Floors had spills over them, empty rolls on the floor - ugh.

On a nicer note a picture of a Christmas tree in the hotel foyer - they also had some lovely light displays with reindeer - made me feel a bit Christmassy. :)

Why I can't travel with other others, at a nearby table are two couples. One woman has been digging around in her teeth with a bamboo stick for about ten mins. Talking, eating, while digging around her teeth for a chunk of food or explorative surgery for something she lost.

A number of years ago smoking was banned in clubs. Excellent decision.

It would appear that law has now been relaxed with clubs building smoking areas with pokie machines inside the club. The place stinks if you're anywhere within 20 metres of the door.

What about the staff that have to service machines and provide drinks service in a smoking area?

How did we go backwards? Greed?

4 Gins, 8 beers and 1 mead later... Pour my husband in the car and it's nap time while I do a load of washing.

I hate packing bags with dirty clothing, even when in separate bags. I usually send laundry out but apartment has machine and dryer.

Current view from comfy couch.

The Santa we had at Christmas lunch was wearing thongs on his feet. Too hot for boots, he said.

Lots of advises to not feed the wildlife but then you get to Kingscote and there's a old guy who has been feeding pelicans on the wharf for years.

What happens when he drops dead and this town then has dozens of pelicans unable or unwilling to hunt for themselves because he's been feeding them for decades?

Quite liked the Flagship lounge at LAX - lot bigger and noisier than it used to be, but it had Bollinger and a nice selection of food. Better than the Oneworld J lounge. So if you are Gold or travelling in J (i.e no F lounge access), I would visit the Flagship and move across to Qantas before the flight.

Oneworld lounge fairly quiet by now and messy - plates and glasses that were here when we arrived 1/2 hour ago still not cleared. Now I am not a cleanliness fanatic - I’d it is a choice between housework or reading a book, the book always wins. However a messy lounge is not a good look. I would rather they concentrated on messiness than women’s footwear....

They'll copy the old man?
