cough. Minor panic. Well, major at the time. Realised the issue last night was our BBQ thermostat a bit dodge. So upped the heat today for the baked ham and another chicken. Then came in to check how turkey was doing after 2.45 hours. Oven not working. Saw a key light on. No idea what that was. Turned off the power supply to oven and then back on again and it seems to have started heating again. I think it only lost maybe 10 minutes or so as the thermostat didn’t take long to click off then a bit later click on again (normal). But I’m not really sure. Will have to do the thermometer check and probably microwave stuffing a bit more just in case.

We don’t do any family cooking at Christmas. Don’t mess with tradition

This year family Christmas dinner was at Gary Danko though it was technically 23/12

Looks like Buzzard and Flying Mermaid are here too for Christmas

Did you enjoy Gary Danko?

Low key day here! Popped out for coffee and then stopped at McDs to get the dog a treat! Contemplating making some apricot jam given the weather is so much cooler today.

Fresh apricot jam will also mean fresh baked scones and cream too!

Super cute, AisleSeat!

We checked into our very first Air Bnb. Super easy, didn't even meet the owner. Key in key lock, code texted to me, lock up garage at rear, all settled in by noon.

This is our view.

Yes, it was very nice. Wine pairing was good. We had the truffle 5 course menu. Mrs QS was more impressed by the little hook that the waiter attached to the table with great fanfare so her handbag could be hung on it:rolleyes: rather than on the chair or on the floor. But then the bread girl comes around with those aluminium kitchen tongs (that everyone has) putting bread on the plate.

Danko has subtle flavours. You can also order from the regular menu (from which the 5 course menu is derived).

Next to us was a couple. The female of the couple berated the male for most of their dinner for coming to this restaurant in a Tshirt from Alcatraz (the one that says "Ive spent time in Alcatraz"):D I was properly dressed (no tie though). The dress code is elegant but he was let in. Hey its San Fran.

For comfort food there is a small ramen shop just round the corner just past the bike rental shop. Very nice and flavoursome ramen there which costs less than the tip at Danko.

Trams stops at the intersection

Have to book ahead.

Starters and struggling to make a dent into this, giving away oysters as there was too many!

Oysters, prawns, abalone, scallops, cheeses, ham, honey bread ect.

Edit. Asked for containers to take ham, cheese, bread, olives, domades ect for dinner.
