Wasn't there a Superannuation thread some time ago, maybe all this stuff could/should go there?

Does anyone think a parents/childrens playgroup would be a bad idea? Once a week for 1.5 hours. I guess it doesn't compare to day care but could be good for the child to start interacting?

Been out of the game for a while.
One place to search is playgroupaustralia.org.au

Other resources may be the local council, church groups etc

its a wonderful idea. Playgroup saved my sanity (and probably my marriage), after I had Dr FM and was absolutely fantastic for the kids. The child has the opportunity for play and socialising, but then quiet time at home. It is wonderful for the parent as well, as an opportunity to share information and feel you are not alone when raising a child, particularly if your own support group is non existent as mine was.

My children were never in daycare, but settled into first preschool and then kindy without issues, because of play group and other things I took them to, like Kindy Gym and Bop Tots.

A good playgroup is good, depends on how its structured and the culture (not a mean girls club).

Bub might like playing with other kids plus your wife gets out and meet/talk to other mums and dads.

I was surprised that kids have to know the alphabet and write their own names for kindergarten these days, isnt that why they get sent to kinder?

Wife has been running into a lady at the park with a 3 year old who mentioned a playgroup near where I work. Looked it up this morning and it's the Uniting Church.

Went to check this morning and Fridays are full with 30 kids and they have started a Thursday session as well. I saw 10-12 children today.

Looks ok. Could be good for daughter's development and also good for wife to get out a little.

So the Minister for Health here in SA has now admitted the cause of the 17 minute blackout in the Hospital during surgery procedures was not software after all but the generator ran out of fuel. And these people run our state. Ran out of money and now run out of fuel. March is an election. But Nick X is creating complications.

Hubby visited a friend at work today. Friend works with all the private jets and guests at the airport.

Apparently hubby would sell a kidney but it's not worth as much as he would need, to play with the cool kids.

SA needs diesel. ROFL!!

It's not that difficult to lock a car before you leave.

I had a different problem. Couldn't leave the car. Had to check every door was locked 3-4 times. Sometimes I had to come back and check doors were locked.

Glad that's over.

So I wake this morning to Anthony Mundine (why does this guy get any air time?) telling the world , after having walked off “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here” (I don’t watch TV so I haven’t seen any of it) how he doesn’t believe in homosexuality, abortion or contraception. At the risk of having this moved to the grammar thread, saying you don’t believe in these things is like saying you don’t believe in oxygen. “heads up Anthony, they all exist” !
NZ is having a debate about a 4 day week. Sounds ideal to me.

A couple in the US convinced their 13 YO son he had brain cancer.

And Barnaby Joyce’s future FIL has a spray about his daughter getting it on with a ex Kiwi.

So all is right in the world. ;)

For me, Mundine is like the Kardashians, I don't know why the media gives them oxygen.

One can only assume a moderator decided they new best.

Like the airline business itself, people find things that are are fine but fix them anyway.
Happens a lot in the IT industry too. Software and IT items are enhanced to the point where no one wants to use them anymore.

When you hit send on a email, knowing the really nice IT guy on the other end is going to have a WTF and yell at the screen moment. I got brought into a meeting on Tuesday PM for a Monday golive IT project and there is a lot of master data & mapping missing/needs work.

Asking for unreasonable favors is never a easy thing.
