Well! How do we know! :)
See (and interpret) a subsequent post.

I have met @JohnK and they have Grik heritage; I have worked with several Greeks for some decades and have leaned to 'read/listen/comprehend' between the lines ... one of the common traits is describing a "third person" event as if in the "first person".

It was fine until my USB died - I had a backup of it by the AUSKEY backup therin would not work.

I was surprised to see the Business Portal accessed using MyGov seem the same or similar to accessing AUSKEY - none of the floury MyGov white space.
its really easy to get another AUSkey now. When I first did it many years ago you had to jump through hoops to get it and talk to someone. I needed to get a new one a few months ago and it took 5 minutes to request online and when I had problems installing it, I just requested another one and it was immediately emailed. As long as you have the tax details you seem to be able to request multiple AUSkeys with no issue!

Bush fire in Sydney but a friend in Nelson Bay just posted this. His cars damaged.

I think you misunderstood, it seems @JohnK was describing the actions of another member of the public.
Re-reading some of the responses I can't believe people actually think I was describing something I was doing.

I have a Gocard. Costs me ~$40/week. I don't try to evade fares but look for ways to minimise my cost. Legally.

Yes apparently now but that wasn’t evident on the first post.

That doesn’t work on forums.

That’s exactly what I thought and hence my follow up post. And your follow up post didn’t qualify and then referred to tips you’d passed on to others. Confusen much?

And was this the same issue that Men Fox had as well?
I am assuming so - sounds like it. Clearly they weren’t paying too much attention to those visas in the past and in this new era are being pedantic. Seems fair - if you are getting paid, get the right visa.....

The request is fine, get the email sent and record the confimarion code.

None of my attempts to activate a new AUSKEY this month worked, it really used to be simple as you state

That’s a pain - I will have to make sure I don’t need a new one again. I was feeling quite relaxed about them, because I thought they had made it easy.....possibly just an IT glitch?

well…that was an interesting few minutes.. now have quick link saved to about ten squillions acronyms..
All a bit sad but thats progress I guess….

I don't usually brag about tricks I find.

I may have rushed the opening post. I couldn't believe my eyes when this young woman did this in front of me and right in front of ticket office.

"She touched on and walked through barriers and I touched on and walked behind her. After 4-5 paces she turned around and look shocked, went past me to touch off and then past me again to head for train."

I'm guessing if caught she will say that she touched on and when queried about touching off she'd plead ignorant. Something wrong with Go card reader.

These are calculated risks people take. I see it at least once a day.

Or watch House of Cards UK version.

A friendly, third person 'post interpretation and explanation service' would be a great innovation here. Would get me out of trouble from time to time.

With Grik, thats the easy one. (BTW it is not racist, it's just the way greek thinking sort of translates converts to english.)

The other one is when ten words really mean thirty and you need to correctly infer the other twenty. :)

I understood from the OP .... how else does one amass around 40,000 posts;)

I can tell now my call with ComputerShare is not going to go well Monday.

I submitted exactly what they told me to submit. Exactly. They then send me a letter saying I had provided insufficient information and needed to include XY or Z. Except I had sent them Z (being my drivers licence)...

And I wrote them the letter they told me to write. With the info in it they told me to include. Except apparently now I have to send the exact same information in a Stat Dec.

The ineptitude astounds me.
