They weren’t pigging out but selectively took all the lobster tails at the time.
We managed to get one in the end.o_O
Agreed they could have been a little more subtle. Perhaps they haven't had seafood or more specifically lobster for a long time.

Took my wife to Four Winds Gold Coast for early Mothers Day and I had way too much seafood. In my opinion one can only eat so many prawns and I had 30-40 oysters.

I had a period of a few years where I had some nasty falls, so always hold onto rails now and am quite cautious when running with the dogs. Tai Chi has helped enormously, but I don’t trust myself anymore. I was quite surprised at how Ms FM was struggling, but I suppose if you have no muscles in the lower leg, then it has to affect your balance as well.

Right so that’s another decision made - add poles to boots and water proof pants to hire :). I must admit I am more in Safari Mode at the moment than Antarctica - need to multi task - and Hamilton tickets go on sale soon, so that’s for the USA in May 2019 -too many balls to juggle :)
Depending on the kind of poles they have available as part of the hire package, you might be better off buying a set each so you know they are the right length and also practise using them as they need to be used correctly to be the most use. Don’t Silversea provide free boots? They did when we went. Bought our own waterproof pants as again needed to ensure a correct fit (and I had to take mine up).

When our house was on the market last year, all valuables such as jewellery were moved to mums to prevent theft issues.

When I sell a home, everything of value goes to a safe place. Likewise when I have dodgy visitors in my home :p:D:rolleyes:

Unfortunately some don’t realise that buffets are to share and not your own private dining table.

Guilty

A couple years ago I was at the CX Wing for dinner and the chef carved me a slice of the roast pork. There was a little bowl of crackling beside the carvery and I picked it up and emptied the contents onto my plate. It was delicious!

I had assumed the little bowl was like all the other dishes on the buffet - it would be instantly replaced when empty.

Unfortunately that was all there was left with 3/4 of the roast to go

New workplace training - will add to my "Active Shooter. Run, Hide, Fight" training.

My cousin has been living in Florida for the past 30 years. Fabulous career. Beautiful home and great friends. Finally moving back to Australia.

I suspect the full day training in active shooter drills his primary school child had to attend last week has a lot to do with his decision.

Meanwhile he still has a sense of humour:

Mrs RB has used poles on our last few trips. I think she actually uses them more going downhill. I seem to recall that the ones she bought collapse down smaller than others for packing-something to keep in mind if buying
Thanks for that - I think we will probably just hire - it is more cost effective to buy, but I have never used poles before (or felt the need), although maybe it is something to consider as I am getting older. I think I am OK on land but just worried ice being slippery. You can hire the gear through Silverseas and they will deliver to your cabin, which is quite attractive as well.

well I found one thing that said there were boots on board but then my consultant said you needed to hire boots.....Mr FM said he doesn’t want poles as he will be busy with a camera and Ms FM’s husband seemed to feel he was too macho for them. Maybe I should buy - if I bought some collapsible ones they could be good for the gorillas as well.

At the moment I am trying to sort out our flights with Kenyan Air. We are only taking one commercial flight in Africa, the rest are little planes. However KQ has cancelled our flight and rebooked us on one that gets us to Kigali too late to get to our accommodation. Fortunately I suspected they might do something like that, so we are overnighting in Nairobi, just in case we needed to get a 7am flight! Just trying to get them to rebook on that one. It is an all economy flight, so I wonder if we will get any refund!

My niece lived in Texas for a few years. She had a rule that neither of the kids were allowed to go on sleepovers if there was a gun in the house. I gather they went on very few sleepovers. :)

Pilates (clinical with Physio) made the world of difference for my balance etc post knee injury.
