Hope you got on QF1874 ex CNS, the earlier flight stops at Gove and gets into DRW after QF1874 but you get two dinners!

Dont expect much at the QP in CNS, they setup for the breakfast rush at 5PM!

Edit - on both QLink flights the first 13 rows have an extra 1" seat pitch, beyond Row 15 you lose an inch!

Am on QF 1874. My seat buddy from the first flight is my seat buddy on the next flight. I've brought her to the QP where she is delighted to have beer, food and internet.

I have been to Gove and had many drinking sessions at the Walkabout hotel.

Row 4 so I get the extra 1" :D

Steven Bradbury was just in the QP.

Congrats (on getting the flights, not on seeing Steve Bradbury).

Mal, I've just found out that an old mate from high school is living in London currently and has been for the past year ; so I've barreled him with a heap of questions too, which he is more than happy to answer.

A lot of the info he has come back with correlates with your experiences. So I think that with the info from yourself (thanks!) and the info from himself, as well as now actually knowing someone living there that can help me once I arrive, I feel somewhat confident it should all go "OK" once I get there:!:  :p

Well, thanks to short-sighted Government ministers who are influenced more by industry cronies then scientists, economists and common sense, it is likely I'm in the market for a new job sometime in the next few weeks.

I can't say much more than that yet, but the move is going to single-handily destroy any opportunity Western Australia would have of moving to sustainable futures for the timber industry, and implementation of cleaner, greener energy sources to power us well into the future.

If anyone is looking for an experienced Online communications operative in/around the Perth area - then I'd love to hear about it.

Can't help you with the job prospects - sorry - but good luck if the curtain does fall on your department.

Once again, the environmental and sustainability agenda gets pushed back by the pencil pushers and economic zealots.

I wouldn't expect anything different from the Australian government, more certain from the WA *cough* government.

My experience of an Australian government in regard environment etc. Was the treasurer told them to slash the budget and the pencil pusher had to do it. Personally I'd blame politicians trying to get reelected because howard and Costello have convinced the voting public that good economic management means AAA+ ratings and surpluses.

Especially dishearting when then finding out that the premiers department have gone over budget by enough to wipe out the savings made by 4 operational departments including health.

At least I've got to fly a lot more with my new job :D

Good to hear! I enjoyed my time over there, and hopefully you will too :)

Just had a spontaneous reunion with Oz Beach Babe at Darwin airport. She's busy working but was able to chat for a few minutes.

Had a great time in Darwin even if I only had a bag of winter clothes. Some colleagues I hadn't seen for a few years were on the course and I made some new friends. I caught up with an old Canberra friend where I ended up at the Deck Bar rescuing this drunk girl who was trapped in the toilet and freaking out. Turned out she was pushing the door instead of pulling

Now I'm at the QP, relaxing with the bosses and waiting for our delayed flight.

You got a seat at the DRW QP on a Friday in the PM - priceless! Then again the delay probably means your flight is the only one left to go !

Did anybody else see Collectors on ABC tonight?

This week’s Show and Tell is so big it had to be trucked into the studio. It belongs to Noelene and is a memento of when her family ran a local travel agency. As Adrian says, this is a ‘stonker’ - because it’s huge – a 3 metre advertising feature for Qantas in the form of a clock, that originally hung in a Hobart Thomas Cook’s travel agency.

It dates from the late 1960s and we were able to verify this by the type font used for the print. The clock has the name Derby which Adrian figures might be an American company. The big trick with this piece is putting a value on it. Because the 1970s are currently fashionable, it will be appealing. Also it is in perfect working order so Adrian thinks it has to worth around $2000, but really the only way to establish a value would be to put it to auction.

It looks magnificent and I would love to have it on my wall. As the time changes the lights along the bottom move to show where it is daylight in the world.

Don't you just love Telstra? I dutifully queued up at local TLife early this morning for shiny new iPhone 4 , had 32G in stock. Great! Except as existing customer on old "legacy " system they couldn't offer me the new cap plans. Only way to do it according to them was to port number to another Telco then come back in 10 mins later as a new customer. 12 hrs later I am now the proud owner of a 32G iPhone 4 iPod touch and a loan phone from TLife with Vodafone sim and my old number! Ah well , another day at TLife tomorrow after the usual Saturday sport round ;)

It's Friday, just 6 days til the start of the new A-League season...:mrgreen::mrgreen:

The youngest Princess in the Shrek household got married today in Kindergarten. Ring and all. On closer inspection it did not seem to have been purchased at Diva, had 18k hallmarks and a diamond. Several phone calls later and we still have the contraband in our house! What should I do? Neither the new spouse or the ringbearer's mum know anything about it.

Any update on this one? Did you find the original owner of the Princess' shiny new toy?

If all goes to plan, anyway :p
