And this is why we don’t want BA owning every airline, because they don’t actually want to share benefits :p

Did you get to the CX lounge? Any good?

Yes I visited CX briefly, too cold, too small, very unimpressive food , no spa. Went immediately back to BA lounge via a side trip to the Chanel shop :). Now in Singapore F lounge awaiting my pizza buzzer to go off for shower

That attached figure looks like it came from a brochure. Source?

QF has a stack of these "relaxed person in lounge" and staring into space like photos....

As a gold member it appears on your summary page.

Edit: Actually - looks like it appears on all the pages

Yep as mentioned from the website for Gold members. Seemed to be there on most pages when logged in, but not the home qantas page, iirc.

So far I haven't noticed any other mocking taunt type things on the website as a platinum. ;) :D

(Sorry all, just a WAFL comment, but has been a 20 year drought between grand final wins!)

Yep, go the Swannies! My father played colts for them when he was a youngin' and they're also a team that a lot of guys from my old high school normally play for if they make it.

Great goal and kicked at just the right time!

Anyone know if there is/was fog at SYD this morning. 30 minute delay on my DJ flight due to air traffic delay for weather. All the RTA road cameras look pretty clear at the moment. Wouldn't mind betting it is due to the debacle with web checkin as there are stuff all pax sitting here at the gate.

No, there is no fog in Sydney this morning. Came past the airport at 0430am and it was clear.

Thanks. I guess that the 30 delay was due to the web check in failure then. More feedback for DJ.

Appears to be the norm anat0l (well, for both of us):

excerpt from my QFF Activity Statement said:
11 AUG 10 Hotels at Qantas.com NOVOTEL TWIN WATERS RESORT 30JUL10

They obviously don't batch and send every night, probably weekly and then QFF have to allocate to member accounts

My thought anyway...what would I know :D

...although, having said that, I've only just noticed a bonus 1K points credited (must have been a promo I didn't know about):

11 AUG 10 Hotels at Qantas.com NOVOTEL TWIN WATERS RESORT 30JUL10 1,239
11 AUG 10 Hotels at Qantas.com NOVOTEL TWIN WATERS RESORT 30JUL10 1,000
Holy moley.

I had a stay in mid-ish August at a hotel which I booked through the QF website. It is not a major chain hotel but it was one that earns QFF points.

Normally I would have to chase up one of these to get the points, but I just checked my statement and the credit is there! Admittedly, it has taken about 2-3 weeks since check-out for it to appear, but I didn't have to chase up.

anat0l, you thought 3 weeks was bad for posting, check out this one in my Dad's FF account:

15 JUN 10 THE SWANSTON HOTEL MELBOURNE 21JAN10 ---3,099

try 4 months! And he didn't even chase it up

Well after that outage I’m very happy to get back on the website to start posting again :)

I’ve been so bored this afternoon! :p

Having withdrawal symptoms were we? LOL

I too was looking for something to fill the dull hour and a half I had to spend listening to state parliamentary proceedings. Would have happily browsed AFF with the audio from the hill coming in, and at least AFF would be much more fun then hearing people talk about a privileges investigation.

Yes, politicians can be boring and extemporaneous.

I didn’t put parliament time on luckily… simply watched some sci-fi and then walked the dog. I think I might’ve gone mad had I tuned into what you were tuned into :p

Mad is the understatement of the year.

Annual Report deadlines for WA Govt. agencies are this week. You can't release the report to the public until it has been tabled in the lower house. It's a procedural motion that takes all of thirty seconds (a little more depending on just how many reports are being tabled that day). Over forty tabled today, and there are even two agencies who had to invoke the Financial Management Act S65 because they couldn't get the reports done on time (lazy sods).

Normally I wouldn't have to listen, but the Minister's media advisor & parliamentary liaison got bored and didn't want to hang around in the chamber any longer - so we would have had no idea until at least late tomorrow if it had been tabled or not.

So - fire up the web browser and tune in. They were scheduled to be tabled before 3pm during the Govt. business segment, but someone had to screw up the order of the day by having standing orders suspended - all for a debate on a supposed slur against a member's character and the believed suggestion of criminal or corrupt conduct by same.

I won't bore you with the details, but thanks to about 20 members of the house who like the sound of their own voice it took nearly 90 minutes before they got that over with and returned to normal business.

Glad that I could share all that mind-numbing detail with you.

Ummmm
I don't know about WA parliament, but I enjoy listening to federal parliament and senate.
Not as entertaining as when Keating was around.

Well slightly on topic here but worth sharing.

I checked my seat selections for a CBR-BNE-TSV-CNS trip in mid November and found I have already been allocated an exit row aisle on two segments. :) Hopefully they stick.

And the T-80 seat selection worked wonderfully this morning, snagged 5C for a CBR-BNE on Monday morning.

I was on the "Air Bus" for WLG last month - it had complimentary Wi-Fi on board as well.
It seems that when you are really looking/needing to find the free wifi it is difficult but when it doesn't matter they are everywhere.

The free wifi finder iPhone app is really good for that.

I had one of the first apps of that kind, it was eventually discontinued because you could use it to break into networks :p
