Thank christ today is over.

If I never see this annual report I've been working on for the last three weeks again I'll be very grateful. I'd like to post what I think our company's acronym stands for - but it involves the C Word, and it's the only suitable word I can think of right now which describes just how big of a so-and-so our senior executives are.

How's everyone else doing.

Great! Just managed to open my bank account here and managed to get more than the standard 'cash account' :) Another thing I can now cross off the list.

I guess you're not referring to the former WMC that BHP swallowed.

Yes I am. There were a few variations on the acronym including one that used the C word. It was a pretty good reflection of some aspects of the company.

As a shareholder at the time I can say that technically BHP didn't swallow WMC. as they changed their name to Alumina and spun out WMR, which BHP purchased.

It is very exciting. I have also been increasingly annoyed at the Qantas lady tempting me since I made gold in May

Haha. I’ll hit Gold in December, but wont be striving for Platinum before February, and am looking forward to the 50% bonus on points :p

Thanks Sam. I really have everyone here on AFF to thank for making it.

It is very exciting. I have also been increasingly annoyed at the Qantas lady tempting me since I made gold in May:

That attached figure looks like it came from a brochure. Source?

QF has a stack of these "relaxed person in lounge" and staring into space like photos....

As a gold member it appears on your summary page.

Edit: Actually - looks like it appears on all the pages

I don't know why, but that image & text makes me think of a 100% points bonus when you visit an exclusive men's club called Platinum. Never knew any men's clubs actually were on the FF scheme ;)

Holy moley.

I had a stay in mid-ish August at a hotel which I booked through the QF website. It is not a major chain hotel but it was one that earns QFF points.

Normally I would have to chase up one of these to get the points, but I just checked my statement and the credit is there! Admittedly, it has taken about 2-3 weeks since check-out for it to appear, but I didn't have to chase up.

Haha, I had never thought about it like that !

Currently sipping a Cattier Clos De Moulin ( whatever that is ) in BA F lounge T3, spa treatment booked for 8 pm, only for CL and WP according to dodgy French spa attendant. Made me produce WP card as OWE on boarding pass is a "lower" level according to him?? Will try to do a F lounge hop before that. Life is good :)

Lap it up Fiona.

It sounds like the F lounge is a much better place to be than back in the swamp.

And this is why we don’t want BA owning every airline, because they don’t actually want to share benefits :p

Did you get to the CX lounge? Any good?

What??? Not having to chase up points from a hotel? This is unheard of.

I immediately motion for a royal commission to figure out why this happened, and stop it from occurring ever again.
