Have seen Phantom, but not since I was a little boy  I did see the ad for Love Never Dies, thought I'd add it to the list. So many shows to see... so little time (money?) :p

Perhaps, but you finished with a wealthy post count today ;)

Not far off the 4k (again)

Haha, yeah, you’ll get there soon I’m sure.

And I’m not far behind!

Some people have a lot of time on their hands.

I barely remembered to note that I had passed 3,000 posts.... again......

In fact, as of the time of this post, my post count is 3014. Just fill up the space in the 0.... yes, this is a lame maths reference....

I finally got one of your references :)

Seriously. Two new TV free-to-air channels have launched and there is STILL nothing worth watching.

And they’re showing SD material on HD channels. FAIL!

Than and GEM (9’s new channel) is geared at women, but when sport is on it’ll be played there as it’s an HD channel, so you pull in your market, then tell them to bugger off when the cricket is on? :p

I've said it boefore and I will say it again, Freeview in Australia is really lacking compared to its UK counterpart.

Looking at both websites, Australian freeview has only 16 original channels, where the UK freeview has a whopping 37+ original channels.

Australia really needs to pick up their game, those 'Go out and buy a HD set top box to get all these great new channels' ads ran for at least a year and now all the channels are broadcast in SD:shock:

I still never really find anything decent to watch though:!:

Went and saw "The Town" tonight at Odeon Cinema ; that in itself was an experience... it was very cosy. I guess when space is a premium.....

On that note, off to bed *yawn*

Consider population size and land size. If you don't want Australia to grow, you're not going to get 37+ channels, it's not sustainable.

And if you look, all the new channels are showing sitcoms from yesteryear, because they couldn't make or buy that much new content even if they wanted to :p

Anyone have spare helper monkeys around who can read and interpret programming languages?

I'm still short of interesting work to do and have been pressing on with documenting four years of work. I'm 1/4th the way through documenting the intranet platform, and the current modules that I'm documenting (the news distribution system) are just nightmarish despite hours making them as sensible as possible.

I really detest doing documentation, but I just don't want to walk away from this place leaving those who follow in my footsteps in the same position I was when I arrived.

Happy to have a look if you need another set of eyes.

I'd spare you some time if I had some :( Unfortunately, I've got a whole lot of other writing to do. Trying to finish an abstract due next Tuesday to apply for a conference held in Germany next year.

I think that is very, very noble of you to push through with the docs even though it was never your responsibility for the lack of docs in the first place. Probably "some one, some day" will need to pick it up and write it, but that one person is always the unsung hero.

Worst part after having tirelessly written docs is when it is equally as ill reviewed.

Woo!

Those of you with BD G, is my current non-gold card OK to use to enter the lounge (as they can look up status) or do I need to get the new card?
