And this is not possible when purchasing via the internet. Perhaps next time it would be best to see laptop the before buying but I was not expecting my laptop to . I believe I got a good deal on the Lenovo I bought but a little disappointing to find that the layout of the keyboard has changed from previous versions.

The change in keyboard layout is because the Edge is a new series they have created, designed to be low-end/budget.

My X200 I have is the same layout as it has been since the X series was created, pretty much. You will find this to be the case with the R/T/W/X series.

You would think the difference in cost for a keyboard would be minimal though and they could just keep it the same. Silly really!
Considering the price I paid for the laptop you would think the cost of the keyboard itself would be minimal.

One would think that a company like Lenovo would want to have standard hardware across their range of laptops but as you say there are probably other factors at play.

Playing golf at Beerwah Golf Club and Redland Bay Golf Club this weekend.

I have about heard Beerwah. Has anyone played at Redland Bay? Any recommendations for golf next weekend? Virgina? Riverlakes? Howeston? Nudgee? Hurston?

With the amount of rain lately it’s not likely to be much fun anywhere.

Yes mrsdrron reported it had begun raining at the Sunny coast again last night. They have improved the drainage considerably at Royal Beerwah.A few years ago you would already have been declaring it unplayable for the weekend.
The real miserable thing is that this year I was offered free tickets to the PGA at Coolum but i am stuck here in Tassie on call for my last weekend.:(

Whatever happened to the 10 year option?

Or even better, the never expiring Belgian driving license . People at the car rental counter tend to look a bit startled when my 65 year old father in a suit presents his driving license with a picture from when he was a long haired 18 year old hippie...

Well I am hoping that the courses are playable as I have already pre-paid for accommodation at Crowne Plaza and hiring a car for 2 days.

Apologies to all if I've been a bit quiet of late (and wondering where the rest of my Asia 2010 TR is). I'm still recovering from what I caught on the 'vomit comet' ferry ride.

Latest is that yesterday was my second visit to the ED in as many weeks, where another chest x-ray has confirmed pneumonia, sinus infection coupled with post-nasal drip, and suspected whooping cough. The last one can't be confirmed absolutely due to there not being a diagnostic test to confirm it.

After a few hours on an antibiotic drip, bloods drawn for testing, and wanting to go over and hug the poor kid who was admitted suffering significant after falling off a horse the day before (and wasn't brought in as a 'nurse' said her was fine) - I was sent home with a prescription list as long as a few paper BP's.

I've got a few things to say on the skills of both the original attending physician when I was first admitted the morning of returning home, and my backup GP. Needless to say their failure to correctly diagnose and treat will be the subject of complaints at the appropriate time, and depending on how nasty I'm feeling I'll be having my employer raise an invoice to them both to recoup lost time (nothing will come of that, but it'll give them an appropriate & deserved wakeup call as to what their poor treatment can cost).

I'll hopefully be on the mend by weekend's end (crossing toes, fingers, and other assorted body parts), and can finally finish those TR's. Scarily, the whole report is bordering around 18k words long, and that's without reports on CX J and the Singapore leg.

I'm also midway through recovering some photos. Thanks to my own ineptitude, I overwrote a whole ton of photos from the Japan leg and am in the process of running deep data recovery on my laptop's hard disc to get them back.

I'm still reading threads, albeit lying in bed trying not to barf up a lung I'm less inclined to reply. Look forward to more friendly banter and a finished TR soon.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Unfortunately medicine is still an art and not a science, and many ED junior docs do not get a great deal of exposure to treating disease in the returned traveller. I would think that the department involved will review your case and provide appropriate education to their staff.
Looking forward to reading your next installments :)

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I had the same issue with Emergency Deaprtment doctors when I had chicken pox recently in September. All they had to do was some blood tests and an abdominal ultrasound and they would have seen that there was something wrong.

Instead I received an anti-inflammatory injection, the pain went away and I was sent home. :(

Which was almost what happened to me (just before I left for the UK) till the head Dr stepped in and suggested a further look. Turned out I had Uvulitis: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia :!: Hadn't eaten / drunk in 3 days (but did fit in a game of hockey.. :p) so really wanted to get whatever it was knocked on the head before I left!

Well the some of Oprah's mob arrived in DRW today off QF842 from SYD & the TV cameras were there to capture the moment. They were in purple or aqua Tshirts & were also wearing some kind of lanyard.

I heard there was a Vincent Aviation charter down to Katherine probably to see Katherine Gorge but I'll check out NT News tomorrow for more details.

Also saw a Gulfstream VH-LAL take off off RW29 at approx 1300 plus what looked like a 737 in Airforce One colours land on RW29 at approx 1500.

Heard a rumour Tony Abbott was in town & going to visit Paspaley this arvo but AFAIK the Oz Govt BBJ doesn't have any blue paint on it.

Pneumonia, been there done that don't want that bug again, you are madly coughing for 3 days and it gets harder and harder to breathe. I spent 3 days in hospital because of it. I also caught the bug after I had returned from Japan.

Get well soon.

Well I went to the U2 concert in Brisbane tonight (or rather last night ;) ). They still have it, although are starting to show their age.

Had Red Zone tix, so awesome views of the stage, and very close to all of the action.

It’s a good job it stopped raining then :) did you have any during the concert, was the ground muddy?

I’ve seen the claw nearly every night of the week on the news I think.

There was a short and very light shower about 30 mins into the U2 set. Ground was covered with steel sheeting of some description which meant no issues.

Just as well you there weren't any lightning strikes then Mal!
