Now that I'm back "home" I can say that doing Aus in 3.5 days in whY from Europe isn't all that hard! In future though.. I think I'll do a little longer, I didn't stop the whole time I was there!

That said, where you live is aimed at a certain type of traveller. So, the shifty shirtless bogan type traveller is part of the regular clientele.
Yes I undestand the type of people who stay in this hotel but you still do not expect someone to be standing on your balcony on the 6th floor.

Wouldn't mind betting that he might have a prior conviction for something. I can't help feeling a bit suss when you said he looked around the room. Surely if he was genuine he wouldn't be doing that.
He may well have been genuine but I did not know what to expect. He had a look around (pehaps surprised that the room is not the same as the hotel rooms) and then asked for a shirt for while I was trying to show him out. I was actually scared while he was in the room.

If you knew his name you could Google him but don't know whether reception would give that out due to privacy laws etc.
I do not believe the hotel would give out those details.

If it ever happens again I will be gong straight to reception asking for assistance.

I meant by the above that he was dodgy by having a look around & I meant to infer that someone who was genuine (not him) wouldn't have done that.

I hate debt collectors.

They aren't after me, but for some strange reason are after a deadbeat who used to have a mobile number that is now attached to my mobile (It is a data number, so technically not a real number attached to my phone - but I still get missed calls and txts sent to the number).

Very frustrating. Had Virgin Mobile attempting to connect before they sent it off to the debt collectors. Dealt with them, and they stopped harassing me.

Last night got a new text from a different debt collector agency chasing up a debt. Phoned them up and gave them a serving, so now they have removed my number.

Grrr. Why do I have to deal on behalf of a numpty who can't pay their debts?

When I first got a Melbourne number, for the first year I had a debt collector ringing on the number. Took several attempts to get them to stop calling.

Don't keep changing mobile numbers.

And my home phone is on permanent answer machine, as only 1 person knows the number and they ring on the mobile anyway. Indian telemarketers love to call between 7 & 8 pm but they never leave a call back number. :p

They probably did pay their debts, I had the same experience but it was me who apparently had not paid, and I could prove I had :D.

Debt Collectors are quite a bit better these days. Government regulations keep them (relatively) honest.

Now dealing with optus is a nightmare. > 30 mins on the phone trying to get my "Mobile as a Modem" number deleted from my account (or changed ... I don't really care). Customer Service -> Tech Support -> Customer Service -> Tech Support -> (supposedly Customer Service .. still waiting until I get told where I am!)

Call ended up being > 40 mins ... but they removed my Data # (Even after being told several times that it couldn't be removed!!!).

Idiots.

Sad news from the BBC website.

Decent, wish there was double SC on offer at the same time though.

Well I had the barely understandable tele marketer at 1900 tonight.Told me that he was from a computer maintenance company and an international router had notified them my computer had a problem. So i told him I was an Australian spy and he had now been identified and would be dealt with.:lol::lol:
just went to my emails and I had one from the FBI-maybe I tried it on the wrong fellow!

Sometimes debt is not really debt especially when the it has been disputed as debt in the first place. I should not have to pay a bill if I did not receive the service I should have received.

I've had this in the past - "sir we have identified that your computer has a virus. Please get on your computer and follow my instructions". I questioned in detail about which company found this out, who's paying basically. No answer. Then I said which computer. Reply "your computer". So I asked which IP address. Then the sod hung up!

So then I rang them back and gave them a serve about hanging up.

They then rang SWMBO 2 days later and asked her the same about "your" computer". She said "I don't own a computer". True! I own 6 and she owns none. they've never called again.

Installed Internet Explorer 9 last night.

Another in the long list of mistakes I have made in my life....
