Tributes flood in for Severiano Ballesteros
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/golf/13320526.stm

Tributes are pouring in from the world of golf - and beyond - following the death of one of the sport's true legends, Severiano Ballesteros.
The Spaniard, who was 54, passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning after a protracted battle with cancer.
Another legend taken way too early.
R.I.P. Seve

Definitely. Have shared on my Facebook page, as I have a lot of friends who play golf. You fought the brain tumour bravely, but this was one title you didn't win Seve.

Am off to BKK in three weeks and was just reading the T&C of my Jet* ticket when I saw this little gem.

The Warsaw Convention limits liability for loss or damage to baggage to an amount expressed in gold francs. As these are no longer in use, in accordance with international practice the amount is US$20 (about AU$32) per kilo for Checked Baggage, and US$400 (about AU$640) for Cabin Baggage, unless Article 25 of the Convention applies.
My bolding.

Methinks it is time they revised their exchange rates. :p

And so should Qantas.
Delay: For damage occasioned by delay to your journey, where the Montreal convention applies, the limit of liability is 4,694 SDRs (approx AU$8,160/US$7,500) per passenger in most cases. Where the Warsaw Convention applies, the carrier may be liable for damage occasioned by delay, subject to the Convention limit.
My bolding.

My thoughts are with you on what must be a hard day, such anniversaries after a passing are never easy as we are reminded of what has been lost, while I suppose at the same time they reinforce the need to make the most of what we have!

The IC Adl was handing out pink roses to every mum this morning at breakfast in the club, a nice touch! I just gave housekeeping the day off!

Thank you for your kind thoughts Nigelinoz and our thoughts are also with you on days like today.

Nigelinoz, my my thoughts are also with you today. I have yet to experience the loss of a parent but know in time I will :-(

Have had a lovely day with my parents (and grandmother day for my mother with my daughter), whilst my wife went to visit her mum with our son. Happy mothers all round.

I do recall that there might have been a very negative event that lead to that circumstance. But I'll respect JohnK's privacy and say no more
I don't have a girlfriend or a wife! I wish I did but it is not meant to be. I added that little bit of misinformation in that post to see if anyone was actually read my post! :p

I dread the day that happens. I wish there was a way that it never did happen but that would mean that I would have to go first. :(

I don't post photos on AFF or give intricate details of what I get up to on my trips.I dread the day that happens. I wish there was a way that it never did happen but that would mean that I would have to go first. :(

Plus in theory there are only a handful of people on AFF who actually know who I am. Most of the people I have met on AFF or Flyertalk may know my face, my handle, and my first name but would not know surname, date of birth, where I live, my wife's name, my girlfriend's name, how many children I have and their names etc.

A few years ago I was catching up with JohnK in Sydney at the Qantas Lounge, problem was John hadn't turned up and I couldn't think or didn't know his surname. Lounge staff said you must know his name, I only knew the first letter.

I went to see my 103 year old grandmother today with my dad, mum was in Wagga Wagga. I dread the day when either one of my parents dies. It must have been a tough day today for you Nigel. :(

A few of us do a bit of reading even if we don't respond, sometimes I say stuff to see if I get a reaction.

John, you also reminded me of this song currently on youtube.

Hey, be nice to the Beluga - it's a key piece in the puzzle of how nice new Airbus planes get made. Without it, the factories don't get the big parts they need to make nice A330's et al.
Yeah I know, but they could at least paint it in a darker colour so the shape doesn't stand out quite as much,it's even uglier than the A380.(Puts on tin helmet and heads for bunker).
Cheers

I wonder how long before they modify the A380 to make a Super Beluga :p

Given the size increase surely they'd call it something like Humpback. :p

Oh and if they paint the Buluga a colour then surely it would have to change names to Killer or Pilot or Minke.

The profile reminds me a bit of the large trucks that you sometimes see transporting cement and grain,I do realise that they need to transport large aircraft components around but it really is ugly.
However it's not a life or death issue and I doubt I will ever see one in the flesh so I'm not going to have any nightmares about it.
Cheers
