How does someone hack into a Facebook account? Guess the password?

Normally. There are other ways too. The "reset password" functionality can be exploited if someone has access to either their mobile phone (if registered) or their email account.

Is anyone travelling to the US shortly, will be in an Aadmirals lounge, and require wi-fi?

I have a spare code (these can be hard to get ... T-Mobile codes are given out routinely in Flagship lounges, and *some* AA lounges, but generally they are reserved for patrons paying the daily admission fee. )

If anyone wants it, let me know here. I won't be using it, so rather than throw it out happy to pass on.

Virgin Australia Happy Hour sale to NAN (From BNE) $169 + $7 Credit Card.
An overnight there.
Next morning back to Australia... Man it's a VERY long flight ;)

The regs will know what I'm up to ;)

I thought the Golden triangle of fun was on the out bound, I don't see any value on the way back, just a lot of flying. :-|

Can be fun inbound too...

Grr @ myself though. Check my calendar @ work this morning and realise I'm on training on the morning I'm supposed to be flying to NAN. Hmm. Maybe I wasn't as smart as I thought I was ;)

Not if you throw a stopover in there to be used later, can be a handy way of maximising F lounge time outbound as well.

Well I had the barely understandable tele marketer at 1900 tonight.Told me that he was from a computer maintenance company and an international router had notified them my computer had a problem. So i told him I was an Australian spy and he had now been identified and would be dealt with.:lol::lol:
just went to my emails and I had one from the FBI-maybe I tried it on the wrong fellow!
I had one of those calls once. I managed to engage the guy for almost an hour, which at least stopped him from calling other people at the same time.

Told him I had 15 computers in the house and we would need to determine which one was at fault. So I said "just wait while I go and check the first one ...". 5 mins later I pick up the phone again and said, "no, that one was not connected to the internet, let me check the next one, just a minute ...". After about number 6 he was no longer waiting on the line when I picked it up

A friend of mine received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft and asking him to divulge his IP username and password.
Imagine the callers surprise when told that my friend himself actually does work for Microsoft :!::lol::lol:
Cheers

I did that before.. luckily the flight only cost me 25 quid return! I threw it away.

Assuming they do not have mobile phone or email account? Inside job?

There is no way I am posting personal details, photos on internet for all to see and then attempt blackmail.

Are the morons still trying these tricks?

Probably a $250 mistake for me ... need to work out though if the training is actually happening/whether I can disappear that day.

I should wear suits to the airport more often, gave waved straight past a massive line of security "here sir, just duck down through here". 5 minutes from check-in to the lounge on a very busy Friday afternoon @ LHR!

You can't have a FB account without an email account.
Haha! I meant they did not know the password for the email account or have access to the mobile phone. Anyway that situation has been sorted.

Surely they can look on AFF for that :p
I don't post photos on AFF or give intricate details of what I get up to on my trips.

Plus in theory there are only a handful of people on AFF who actually know who I am. Most of the people I have met on AFF or Flyertalk may know my face, my handle, and my first name but would not know surname, date of birth, where I live, my wife's name, my girlfriend's name, how many children I have and their names etc.

So I presume that D1 & D2 caught up in the Lounge and are now in BSL?

Indeed we are!

A girlfriend AND a wife? Nice going, JohnK!
