The totally off-topic thread

Just when you think you get on top of things some dope comes along and spoils everything.

I just received the agenda for the AGM on a strata unit. We recently paid ~$20,000 to lay concrete that was not necessary in the car spaces at the back while my car space around the side has been left uneven and muddy.

Now I see they want to raise the $30,000 to build 6 car ports around the back? Why6 carports when there are 8 units? Who knows? I don't want to build a carport for someone so the value of their unit increases. They want a carport they can pay for it themselves.

Who ever thought that strata title was a good solution is kidding themselves. I would much prefer torrens title and then you take the good with the bad but you are responsible for your own things not someone else's....

A Masterchef thread, now that's an interesting idea
Gag me with a spoon.

While I don't decry the commercial success of both the brand and participating advertisers, I just can't stand the show. A bunch of no-hopers being strung along by TV hosts/chefs who make the idea of sitting on a cactus in the middle of a cold desert whilst stark naked seem quite appealing.

This is not withstanding the show inserts unnecessary drama, wanky product placement, and draws everything out to the point where you just want to start throwing ceramic knives through your LCD TV like they're ninja stars.

Recent research also has shown that some of the tactics used by these shows is on the nose with consumers. The constant repeating of the story and unnecessary drama were seen as one of the things which constantly turn viewers off.

Sorry, still have some built up Eurovision snark and bile stuck in my system (yes, I hate Masterchef yet enjoy poking fun and watching Eurovision - the irony isn't lost on me).

I was just wondering whether I am the only person in the world, I only watch TV occasionally, who loathes all reality shows?

Big Brother, Lost, Survivor, Amazing Race (is this the one where they are stuck in a city with limited money and race to get the airport?), Superchef, masterchef, supermodel, apprentice, next soccer star etc etc.

Total and utter garbage....

Totally agree. Why should I waste my time watching other people waste theirs?

I haven't watched the Australian version of Masterchef simply because it's nothing like the original BBC production which was a very good show with Greg Wallace and Australian restaureteur John Torode ,I watched every episode and the show produced some seriously
talented people-it was a show about cooking good food, the Australian version (in my opinion) is just a game show with a food orientation,to me it's a total coughisation of the original and doesn't even deserve to be allowed to use the Masterchef name.
Cheers

BTW I maybe should point out that as regards "reality"shows then I too can't be bothered with them, but I make an exception for Masterchef-the original one that is.

I've misplaced my Everyday Rewards card so have been missing out on points every time I go to the Woollies checkout.

The other day I get an email from EDR which amongst other things said:

We hope you're enjoying earning points with your Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas credit card. To maximise the points you earn, make sure you scan your Everyday Rewards barcode before you pay at participating Woolworths Group stores. It's conveniently located on the reverse side of your card.

Penny dropped. Despite not actually having my EDR card in my wallet all I have to do is hand over my Qantas/Woollies Mastercard which has the EDR number on the back of the credit card. Do don't have to use that credit card to pay for the groceries you can just use is to scan the number.

Oh and as for Eurovision-can't stand it,huge waste of time and money, and even worse it was Eurovision who gave the world Brotherhood of Man,Bucks Fizz and worst of all Celine Dion-need I say more.:!:
Cheers

Kidney and liver especially are great sources of protein and iron. Cut them up into pieces and lightly boil them in water. Then in a frypan heat some oil and then fry some onions and then include the boiled kidneys and liver.... <snip>

I really was expecting to read...
"... and then wash down with a fine chianti
fff-phh-ff-phhh-fff-phhh."

Agree wholeheartedly nigelinoz. Greg gives both positive and negative points to the contestant and is real. Similar with Michel Roux Jnr.

Gary is the only real one on Masterchef Australia. By comparison, George and have pokers up their rectums
