One minute past the hour.... did the world end in the Eastern States?!

EDIT: cos if it did, I have another 2 hours to blow my diet ;-)

Channel 7 states it is Sat, 6pm (US time). So there is still time...

Couldn't these nutters give warnings in GMT? Would make it easy to correlate around the world and sync clocks!

I actually thought they were being generous by ensuring it was 6pm local time, YLTMV.

Channel 7 is wrong,it was supposed to start at Christmas Island (The one in the Pacific to the east of New Zealand)where there was supposed to be an earthquake triggering tsunamis and earthquakes across the world including New Zealand and Australia, apparently this was all supposed to be co-ordinated to happen at 6PM in each time zone across the world.
  • Approximately 3% of the world's population being called to heaven.[16]
  • Earthquakes would begin on May 21 on Kiritimati Island (Christmas Island), Kiribati at 6 p.m. LINT (0400 UTC).[16][17][18]
  • Citing Jeremiah 25:32, earthquakes would continue "as the sun advances" with New York, United States to be affected at approximately 6 p.m. EDT (2200 UTC).[16]
  • The earthquakes will finally strike Samoa, American Samoa and Niue at 6 p.m. UTC-11 (0500 UTC).[16]

Well the world is still kicking here in Czech Republic. Currently on a public bus on 21/2 hr trip from Jicin to Litomysl. Fare including bags is approx $7.50 each and includes wifi. Thought I would post to highlight where we Aussies stand in progress. Now back to enjoying the countryside.

Now, can anyone explain to me why if there are an estimated 1 billion Christians in the world (ie almost 1/7th of the population) only 3% of the population make it to heaven in the rapture?

All Christians are equal, but some are more equal? Specifically those who give money to nutty American evangelists who predict apocalypses? (?Apocali? Anyone know the plural of apocalypse?)

Did I miss the end of the world?

Ah well I will just have to wait for the next one. ;)

Nah I think they will cancel the October event due to unforeseen circumstances, today was supposed to be the start of 6 months of doom with the end finally happening on October 21,I guess with things not happening as planned today they will call off the October event.
Guess you will have to keep an eye on Mr Camping to see if he can do some recalculations.

I am still waiting for 13 December 2012.

The Raelians appear to have a fascination with 13 December for some reason. Glad they are no longer in the news though. Wonder how their cloned child is coping? Not that I believe them mind you.

Had to look this up - at first I thought you were referring to the Raelenes - the Aussie sheila cult, circa 1972.

No. I reaserched the Raelians a few years ago when I was bored and was fascinated how one ndividual can command a cult following of ~50,000 in France.

The whole belief system is all about Nibiru and Planet X who is due to return. Their key date is 13 December 1974 when Rael "saw the light". A few years ago they were going to be the first to clone a human and show him to all but this never eventuated.

I thought nothing of it until the theory behind the Mayan calendar and the end of the world on 13 December 2012 emerged recently.
