Still getting spam from ReedGlobal!

In between all those ReedGlobal spams I also reeived another spam if I am interested in working overseas. Would suggest to me that the spam has come from someone possibly hacking in to SEEK accounts or SEEK selling the email database.

It is a pity. But don't worry - In a several weeks, I will ensure that they need to resupply their cellar.

And, I'm not 100% sure an AFF'er has ever replicated my ~7 hours in the MEL F Lounge ;)

I've come somewhat close to that - my 2009 madness in May saw me spend about 7 hours in the MEL lounge, but that is strictly counting last arrival to next departure (i.e. not all of it was actually inside the lounge).

I did manage to have a couple of meals and drink out a good amount of champagne (and dessert wine), but still very much an amateur against the collegiate here.

I've found that unless you don't have a better way to spend your time or don't mind, the sweet amount of time in the F Lounge (or almost any lounge for that matter) is about 3 - 5 hours. For QF F Lounges that gives enough time to have a spa appointment, eat a good meal, have a shower and do whatever else whilst taking in the ambiance and not be pressed for time.

I just started getting those emails 2 days ago too! Went on google to see if anyone else was getting them, never thought to go here...

I don't use seek, but maybe once signed up a while ago. Will go see if i have an account that needs deleting.

Funny how ReedGlobal is a global recruiter and I am getting meaningless spam from them.

Is someone taking it out on ReedGlobal?

On my way home on the train after getting back from Darwin, off again in 5 days to Europe, really not looking forward to those restless nights.

Darwin weather was absolutely perfect, should put a post on the FT Ozfest thread. Flying J to and from Darwin was nice.

Air North was interesting saw a bit more of Groote Eylandt than I planned to, but I am not likely to be going there again soon.

Trip report to come.

Be sure to PM me your schedule and I'll see if anything matches up, I'm travelling quite a bit over the next 2-3 weeks.

Veering dangerously close to topic for a moment, but wow EY know how to run a lounge. Currently have my rear end parked in the restaurant at the J/F lounge at DUB, waiting on my first course and supping on my somethingth glass of L-P! :D

If you're supping on a glass you're either a kiwi or the somethingth glass is a large number ;)

Reason #2847 why I'm not a morning person...

Get to office early at 8am, only to realise you left your swipe card at home. No problem, you sit in the kitchen on iPad doing emails thinking 'someone will be in soon no problems'.

Realise at 9am (after not having had coffee because your coffee mug is on your desk in locked office) that you had a spare key for the front door lock all along.

I have coffee now. My brain is waking up :)

Doing a 3 sector YUPP today.First 2 flights early. Now in ORD with third sector cancelled.Aangels have got us on next flight-now just working on seat allocation.

Enjoy. My record is 4 and that was a full on day (MIA-ORD-DFW-LAS-LAX). The MIA flight was delayed (always a bad start to the day) fortunately the AAngels at the ORD F/L had already sorted me out with re-connecting flights. Made everything fine (and the FA on the first segment thought I was so nuts she loaded me up with a 'to-go' back of Absolut minis. Her words were "You're travelling in first with us all the way? Well surely you'll need something for the hotel tonight! Let me get you a to go bag!" and grabbed the air-sick bag from the seat and promptly returned with it full!).

Had to laugh at this story, well more one of those stories that come back to bite.

Mobiles 'may cause brain cancer'

The World Health Organization's cancer research agency says mobile phones are "possibly carcinogenic".
A review of evidence suggests an increased risk of a malignant type of brain cancer cannot be ruled out.
I guess the only good part to the story.

However, any link is not certain - they concluded that it was "not clearly established that it does cause cancer in humans".

Geez I hope you sent in some positive feedback about that FA:!:.

It was actually an important change in the status of the ranking of RF radiation as a potential carcinogen. Announced at 6 pm european time. Occupied a bit of my time reading some background, out of interest. That wording in the story pretty much copied the press release from WHO. The funny thing is they have only put out a press release with the full report to follow in a month or so.

lol @ the Vodka story. My favourite comment to/from the AA FA's was when I ordered a Heineken beer.

"We've run out of Heineken. We do have Bud though".
I said "I don't consider Bud to be a beer. I'll have a water instead thanks!" She comes back and says "Oh, we have Corona Extra", I said "Yep, I'll have that".

Have done 4 flights in a day several times. Can't recall doing 5 in a day - 4 really is long enough!!!

(xx_-MIA-RDU-DFW-xx_ was one set of flights, xx_-LAX-DFW-ORD-xx_ was another, and recently I did xx_-MIA-IAD-STL-xx_. )

Madest set of flying I've done in one go was:
BNE-SYD-NRT<12 hour daytime layover>-JFK-LHR. (Y for most flights, but JFK-LHR was J)

A lot of flying there.

My maddest set was back in the days of the USD1400 BOS/HNL return:

Code:
BOS-xDFW-xSFO-xLAX-xHNL-xLAX-xORD-BOS
9am.1pm..3pm..6pm..9pm..7am..1pm..6pm

All in "First Class" :p

The next day I flew BOS-xMIA-MCO and back, again in first.

I guess that was in your quest to retain Qantas Platinum in 6 days in early November 2008. :p

My most number of segments was on BNE-NTL-SYD-CBR-MEL-ADL-PER, 6 segments in Y in October 2007.

I had originally had included MEL-MGB-ADL but had to buy a direct flight instead.

MGB is Mount Gambier (not sure if I got that right)
