I once had to fly to Hobart to get a contract signed before taking it to London so I did ABX-SYD,SYD-HBA,HBA-,MEL,MEL-LHR.,by the time I got to bed in London I had been awake for 54 hours, with about 3 hours sleep on the plane.
I was knackered to say the least, and ever since I will no longer do the UK trip in one go,I always break my journey in HKG or SIN now.
Cheers

My most mad flying still stands to be what I first termed to be my Mad May, which was in 2009. 32 sectors in 10 days (and 2 of those days had no flying at all). On three of those days, I had five sectors scheduled to depart on the same calendar day:
  • BNE-GLT-ROK-MKY-TSV-CNS
  • ADL-MEL-ASP-MEL-ADL-CBR
  • AKL-WLG-AKL-ZQN-CHC-AKL

The trip report is still lurking here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....dacious-australian-asian-adventure-18744.html

Have done 4 flights in a day several times. Can't recall doing 5 in a day - 4 really is long enough!!!
Does the milk run count?

I have done 6 sectors in a day CNS-TSV-MKY-ROK-GLT-BNE-BKQ and I could have gone on to LRE but did not have much time to get the bus to BCI so got on the bus at BKQ instead.

I have also done 5 sectors in a day HKG-MNL-HKG-TPE-HKG-BKK which was part of 10 flights in 3 days.

I have done 4 sectors in a day more times than I can remember. One wierd itinerary was NAA-MRZ-SYD-WGA//ABX-SYD and I got the XPT from WGA-ABX and it was delayed by ~60 minutes and at one stage it was touch and go whether I would make the ABX-SYD flight.

Can I say the "ask the pilot" thread was a great idea, but i fear jb747 will be answering a lot of questions!

And here I was thinking my DRW-BNE-MEL-HKG-LHR-CDG was a bit dumb...

Well the pitfalls of YUPPS.Our flight ORD-LGA cancelled. At AC told we had seats on plane but gate had blocked all allocations.Phoned gate to get us seated together.Didnt think to ask whether we were still in F.As an extra hour's wait went to Flagship lounge.Agent there again rang gate but could not get seat allocations.Went back again~1900 and same result.Left lounge~1920 as boarding was to start 1925 but boarding already commenced.
On board it was obvious gate agents had done nothing-full story will appear in my TR.Email duly sent to AA.
Next time if no allocation will be going straight to gate and do the full DYKWIA act.
Not worried that we were bumped to Y-that is spelt out in the T&C's-however service from gate agent was non existent and status obviously counted for nothing.
I dont really loose as regatds AA miles but mrsdrron certainly drops a few SCs-from 330 to 255.But still was under $A900.

Longest Day(s) in a plane, MCO-JFK-ITM-EWR (8 hours at EWR Hilton) then Taxi to JFK-ITM-SYD, as some of you would be aware this was when I got on the wrong plane at ITM, as it should have been a simple but long MCO-JFK-ITM-SYD

I didn't know they operated flights between Itami, The States and Australia. Must've been a long time ago (i.e. showing your age there, markis10)

Yep, Kansai took over in 94 and this was July 29/30 in 1992, the reason why I went back to EWR was the TWA Flight 843 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia accident took place as we were approaching JFK. It was when Northwest were flying to SYD.

Well it's been a good week, and karma is finally paying back what it owes me with a little interested. Rather positive job interview, and while it's not the one I absolutely want it'll tide me over until something better comes alone.

Add to that winning an iPad from another frequent flyer forum, and for once I reached Friday without wishing it would just end.

Great win on the job front as well as the iPad front... At least if the jobs is cough you'll have something to do..... :)

Congrats on the job front.

Milepoint I assume... (for the iPad). Are they still giving them away? (You're the 2nd Australian I recall receiving one ... so am curious how many are being given away!)

Visited B&H yesterday. Now playing with my new toy-Sony HX100V.Really impressive for dummies.16MP with 30x zoom in a POS camera.30% less than in Australia.

Thanks. I may not have been as clear as I might like to be on the job, but it was a rather positive interview which I'm crossing my fingers turns into the you're hired phone call early next week.

It'll put me out of pocket compared to what I was previously on, but it'll allow me to pay back what I owe from the Asia 2010 trip, build back my emergency savings, and hopefully take a flight or two to reward myself before year's end.

Yes, it was MP. This one was part of the their Kiva membership drive. For those who joined their Kiva community in May and made at least one loan, you went into the draw to win one (1) iPad. I was just lucky that the random number generator spat out the number that corresponded to the order I joined and loaned.

There was one other iPad, given away for a separate but related promotion.

As for other promos, nothing going on at the moment AFAIK.

Am I a bad person to get my name call over the PA for my flight to HKG, 2nd time in a row for Sydney.

I think this is VH-OJP, talk to you all from HKG

It's good if you got nominated for an op-up, but if you're just holding up the plane then *tsk tsk*

Happy travels!

As you did the same with me and a few others the other day, it's probably a bad thing :p

You're clearly enjoying the F lounge too much!

The Qantas First Lounge staff don't get the call early enough.

No opup stuck in Y spare seat so it is a pretty easy flight., especially being a day flight.

Now to find where the accommodation is, never did copy down the hotel directions,
