Drewbles, I think you are being had!

Hang them out to dry. Have they offered any compensation, let them make the first offer and work from there. You have to be compensated for the additional 4 months of not having the car as ordered, or be prepared to accept black - but they have to pay for the mistake.

Ask where the green one was shipped - perhaps they sent the green one to a person waiting for the black one and it can be re-shipped at their cost. Make them do all the legwork.

I should clarify...

Car yard submitted order correctly (good thing)
Head Office for vehicle manufacturer in Australia submitted order to European plant incorrectly (bad thing)
Result: As far as head office was concerned, the correct vehicle was manufactured and shipped.

This is not the yards fault. They are so exceptionally apologetic. It looks like i'll manage to negotiate a loan car for the time it takes for my car to be re-made in the right colour, and shipped, and it'll be the equivalent model as well. I should also manage to beat them down more on price for the right one.

Either that, or they have to give me the black one for a stupidly good price, which they will not do (which is fine, I really do want my car in BRG).

Fun and games:)

Another thing that virgin is doing perfectly - not canceling their 6am flight ADL-SYD today unlike QF730

Ok, AFF gang - tomorrow morning I head to China, then on to North Korea.
If I am not back in 4 weeks, please send a search party - or use Google Earth and look for gulags.

Be good while I am MIA and safe travels to you all. :)

Do you get to squeeze in a visit to the SIN F1GP?

If anyone is interested, I've accepted the wrong colour after negotiating another 8% off the original price, a multi-year free-service package and some extras thrown in.

Photos will be on FB when I get it next week (I've seen the car in person but it's fresh-out-of-the-bond-store so it needs detailing and inspection before I get it) :)

Sound great!

By the way black cannot be the wrong colour. ;) Much better than lime green or fluorescent green or whatever green you ordered! :p

Not so much squeeze in - it's the entire reason for going to Singapore. Hopefully will get a garage tour of Renault, it was promised at Spa but the team had to work on the car so it didn't eventuate.

And, for those who are interested, the next travel steps post Singapore will be:
Japan - Tokyo and Japanese F1
South Korea - Korean F1
Sri Lanka - wedding (not mine!)
India -Indian F1 & travel
Abu Dhabi - F1
Jordan - tour
Brazil - Brazilian F1
South American travel.

Why, yes, there may be a bit of a theme there

It's been an interesting day of travel so far - the BRU lounge (Iberia) was somewhat underwhelming - no free wireless, the computers were locked up and turned off and the reception staff 'don't have the key'.
A bit of an odd experience - for about 40 minutes I was the only person in the lounge. Like, actually the only person, no lounge dragon, no one. They have this odd 'reception' system at the entry to all the lounges, then variable staffing in the individual lounges (ie none in the Iberia lounge at the time). I had to fight the overwhelming urge to dance about in my underwear :oops:

Don't worry, I was well behaved ;) (I think they have CCTV and didn't want to end up on YouTube)

Wow! Living the dream :D And you were at Spa, what a great GP to be at... and you going in the renault garage!:shock:

Looking forward to Singapore GP, land 6am on Friday.. rest up and hit the track at night. Can't wait

Very much looking forward to the TR and especially some F1 shots.

Congrats - sounds like they did the right thing and that's quite generous "compensation".

I heard from some time ago that it's quite possible that the Breakfast Creek Hotel may be closing to make way for certain constructions. However, I've forgotten who said it, when it may happen and perhaps some place where corroborating / confirming information can be found. Or, it may be all just a rumour.

Can someone help me out here?

I don't think plans have been confirmed for the next stages of kingsford smith drive upgrade, despite it being expected back in April in terms of a decision. One of the options was a realignment of the ICB which I believe would impact the hotel, but I am not sure to what extent. Given Bretts is closing further up, there is obviously works proceeding in some form?
