They were extremely kind. I would say "pretty much between Tweed Heads and Cape York there's nothing". ;)

Not much south of Eden either! :p
Someone hasn't told all the Mexicans here on the Sunny Coast-and in the last week it has at last lived up to it's name.

I was at the airport and asked how do I book a day flight Ayres Rock and back.

I said good luck and sent her over to the QF counter.

Actually I would not mind if 75% of Australians lived in Queensland. That would mean that the rest of Australia would be perfect assuming we still had the same infrastructure and facilities in place.

I just hate it when the town shuts up shop at 8:00pm in the night. But if Queensland went to daylight savings +1 hour all year round then maybe this issue would be fixed.

Can you tell I am selfish and cannot sleep before 1:00am and golf is best played when the body is fully awake and that is not before 9:00am? :p

Well i would rather the 75% stay south of the border, play golf better before 0800,and always go to sleep~4 hours after sundown so in Tassie in summer cant get to bed before 0100.
Looks like we are polar opposites!

I subscribe to another social/business site and it was suggested there that it was poor form to not have a photo of oneself on display, I am not necessarily in agreement with that. But it strikes me as odd that not many posters on this site make any sort of effort to provide the basics in their profile.

Are we talking something liked linkedin; some people keep their profiles locked down so you can't even see what sort of work they do, maybe some people have their linkedin profiles locked down as much as their Facebook page.

A few of us are on linkedin, I haven't found much use for it yet but with 3,000,000 Australians with an account it might have some use.

Currently sat in 1F on my own special DJ flight - 444. Some may know that I've lamented the lack of a SYD-ADL flight about about 19:30 to 20:00. I even wrote an email to DJ to ask for such flight. They said no. :(

But not 2 months later while random searching what do I see but DJ444 @20:10 SYD-ADL. :D Thanks DJ for my flight.

I'll look that one up, thanks.
On inspiring stories :
Can't quite post this on the Celeb's whilst travelling thread as it wasn't travelling but
Saw Sophie Delezio swim today at the NSW Primary Swimming champs.
Now there is a true champion :)
Brought a tear to my eye as I was explaining to my girls ( not born at that time) what she has gone through.
Amazing to see her competing

I'll even iron my golf shorts!
I'm up for it... got some Dec QF vouchers I need to use before they expire.

Looking to July - August - thru November and can only be a weekend for me.

The Sunshine state would be the better venue, although I could arrange a game with few groups on the Mornington Peninsula (won't help my voucher use but).

Well the "backpacker types" do follow a set itinerary..... So between Fraser and Cairns there really isn't a lot.......

If you're trying to avoid bed bugs anyway ;)

Pretty handy with a glove on.....happy to throw my bag in.

I know it does not help but I am only in Brisbane for a few weekends July-October.

At this stage it looks like last weekend in July, September 15-16, October 13-14 and October 27-28.

I would love to have the AFF Golf Challenge on one of these weekends although I may bar myself from October if I want to try and win B grade stroke championship which is not that special anyway....

I didn't use linked in for a while, but industry specific forums have changed that. And yes it was LinkedIn

And I still have an extremely basic LinkedIn profile.

You see almost anyone who is anyone in my company is on LinkedIn. Why bother advertising that I am looking?

I agree.
The only attraction for me is industry specific stuff.

Not unlike aff in fact. .......Specific interests.

Thank you - I just had a look at the first chapter through Amazon - it's on the Wish List for when I get around to loading my Kindle again.
