Am thinking of doing the long way to Mel airport today... Train to broadmeadows and then 901 bus. For those that do it... How long should i allow for the process ?

Is it worth it? Any traps?

Never heard of anybody wanting to go to Broadie!

That is the long way - a train from Roma Street goes all the way to
Broadmeadows. Why wouldn't you want SC's?
:o ;) :p

You can use the journey planner feature of the Metlink site,Home - Public Transport Victoria
if you input Broadmeadows as the starting point and Melbourne Airport as the destination it gives you a journey time of about 30 minutes for the 901 bus but
that was based on me choosing the current time as the starting time so it may change depending on what time you want to start.
Of course you can also use the station you are getting on at as the starting point and it will give you different results.
Cheers

Why? Because i can. That form of airport travel has been done many times by some here. I can look up the times without an issue, i was more after previous experiences.

Ps. My stay at formulae 1 last night was awesome. The room service was great but the guy didn't accept a tip. Amazing.

I have used PT many times.

It takes about 45 minutes longer than the Skybus if you use the hourly 478/479 service from Essendon RS - more efficient than the 901.

What time is your flight?

(Note there's a 5 minute/400 metre walk from the bus stop to T3 these days, not undercover)

We watched our staff member get hitched in Vegas with the Elvis impersonator in a 1950s setting. They stream the event so there were quite a number of us watching the event on the Internet.
Mrsdrron and I renewed our vows at the Gracelands wedding chapel in Vegas with her promising not to step on my Blue Suede Shoes and I promising to be her Hunka,Hunka Burning Love.

2pm. I May end up using traditional transport this time. ...
Yep, from the City I'd allow 3 hours minimum and it's a bit close.

Should you be keen, you'd need to catch a Craigieburn train at 11:03 through the loop to Essendon at 10:29, out to the East to catch the 478 bus at 11:35 to get to MEL ~Noon. Cost is a zone 1&2 2 hour metcard @$6.50. (There is a 12:03->12:35->1pm option also).

I'm generally pretty keen as it cost me nothing additional (other than time) as I have a yearly pass.

Oops, I drove out to MEL at midday to go to some plane spotting, could have offered you a lift.

If N.Korea has its rocket explode on the launch pad are the visiting journalists allowed a smile??

I spent most of the long weekend 'housekeeping' at home, sorting in particular the papers relating to credit card providers, rental car companies, hotel groups, RTA/NRMA, utilities businesses, Medicare and private health fund, et al. Phew...

As non-business documents, I don't have to keep them for statutory seven years. Even for just two years, there's so much already. Next long weekend, I'll be ridding some of these.

Silly me for some reason booked a flight back to BNE for tomorrow morning.

I am in for one long day tomorrow and I am going to regret it. And the only reason I can remember is that today's flights were $50-$60 more expensive than tomorrow mornings flights.

Not sure if this should be a separate thread as I'm not expecting the strongest response, but any suggestions as to which companies offer a decent contents insurance for rentals? I looked at prices a while ago, but I don't even really know what situations I should be making sure are covered in the PDS.

Any takers?

Remember doing that a couple of times - the shower in my office was brilliant. I think I'd normally make it to about 3pm then fade quickly after that...
