The totally off-topic thread

Not sure if this should be a separate thread as I'm not expecting the strongest response, but any suggestions as to which companies offer a decent contents insurance for rentals? I looked at prices a while ago, but I don't even really know what situations I should be making sure are covered in the PDS.

Any takers?

I use a broker for all my insurance needs.

They make it all plain english for me.

Silly me for some reason booked a flight back to BNE for tomorrow morning.

I am in for one long day tomorrow and I am going to regret it. And the only reason I can remember is that today's flights were $50-$60 more expensive than tomorrow mornings flights.

Remember doing that a couple of times - the shower in my office was brilliant. I think I'd normally make it to about 3pm then fade quickly after that...

Weak, the lot of ya's!! Toughen up princesses!

Been a long time since I had a rental property, so hard to give any timely advice. I'm also more on the life rather than the general side. I think I'm also biased as I get staff rates (no commission).

Find a good general insurance broker, they can be the difference.

If N.Korea has its rocket explode on the launch pad are the visiting journalists allowed a smile??

Depends how much they want to go home... DPRK government take your passport for 'safekeeping' on arrival into the country, and having stood on both the DPRK/China and DPRK/South Korean borders I wouldn't want to be relying on a dash for freedom! Both borders are heavily fortified, but unlike most places the DPRK guards and razor wire faces inwards.

Since at any given point only 3/8 of the lifts in our "5 star" Pyongyang hotel worked, I have low expectations for their rocket myself!

Heck I was Mr42% with my Resmed sleep machine compliance in the first year so 37.5% lift performance in the N.Korean capital would have me using the stairs. I wonder if the West will be blamed if the rocket fizzes and burns at the launch pad.
We can laugh down in Australia provided their space junk doesn't hit anything we value.

Proudly claiming 37.5% lift efficiency on a billboard at the airport?? Government determined 5 star hotel?? That place has so much material for their advertising executives to work with!!
Now the biggest question is how much do they charge to get the leaders haircut styling?

This timely subthread discussion on North Korea better not impact on my ICN-FRA flight coming up. I'm in ICN right now - and all I see outside is dampness and fog. How we landed into ICN is a mystery...

Affected flights are being re-routed. From what I have seen, you shouldn't have any dramas...

I don't know whether this is still the case but a while back women could only choose from 12 different hairstyles that were all approved by the Govt.

Wow. I don't know whether to laugh or cringe! (And are there photos somewhere of the approved designs?)

They were all shockers. I think it may have been in an article featured in Marie Claire magazine a few years ago.

Googling, I can only find one for the blokes:

Felt like falling asleep between 11:00am and 1:00pm but managed to make it through to ~5:30pm. Not doing that again in a hurry....

Soft! Do it every week and you get used to it. Left work at 7pm tonight after getting out of bed at 3:50am. Only got a couple of noddies around 2:30pm ;) The worst bit is that I now wake up at about 4 [-]pm[/-] am automatically on Monday morning, even when I have the day off. :(

Not soft at all.

Not a morning person and I only want/need to wake up early for golf and travel. Work is not urgent and can wait until 10:00am.

For me I gain nothing by staying in SYD an extra night and coming to BNE in morning as I pay for the room weekly not nightly. Best to have come in last night at ~9:00pm, relaxed and gone to sleep and woken up at ~7:30am-8:00am this morning....

Bless his cotton socks, at dinner tonight Dad told me how on the flight home from HNL last year, my stepmother's bag locks had been broken by security as they weren't "American" ones.

I told him I didn't bother with TSA locks on trips from the US. Really should try to take him on a trip involving the SYD F Lounge ... ;)

Probably a bit OT but anyway:
Are there any Virgin/Velocity friendly ways of travelling SYD-ICN?
The only one I can come up with is SQ via SIN.
That would be quite nice as I could then tick the SQ A380 J box.
Only downside is either an overnight stop in SIN or a red-eye from SIN-ICN (which I'm thinking would be rather unpalatable)
Price not really a consideration otherwise I'd post it in the flight search forum.
More concerned with VA earning potential/ hard product.
