Brrrrrrrr, 'ol man Winter blew into BNE last night and hung around this morning. First time I've had to crack the long sleeve pullover and tracksuit pants for my morning walk

The weather in Perth remains normal to hot but no we don't need 20 million Aussies coming over at the moment.
If you always wanted to pay a big price for a hotel room then Perth would be the place to get to without a hotel reservation.
You could use a years travel budget easily if you tried doing unplanned visits.

Yep,

Up in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland it has turned cold very quickly as well..

Here in N/E Victoria it is like winter has arrived already, last night it got down to 0 celsius and I had to light my Masport wood fire in the living room,in fact the whole day
yesterday was cold, probably didn't get much above 9 or 10 ,forecast for today is a bit better though, supposed to be 19 later and it's a very sunny morning but they
are saying only 2 degrees tonight.

It's great Sydney is finally at a good temperature. I can turn my fan off every so often.

Has the SYD F Lounge always had music playing through the speakers?

I'm sitting here now (enjoying the lovely Fig dish with Jamon and other niceties) and they're playing Cat Stevens. It's not loud, it's actually quite pleasant, just never noticed music in here before..

I have noticed it before.

I've had it with this cold snap. That's it, enough! I think a tropical holiday is better than this cold weather! ;)

Wouldn't you rather what I have to look forward to...

I'm suddenly examining my decision at around 2am this morning to pack 10 or so sachets of laundry powder into my bag. That doesn't sound so bad, but they're all clear dissolvable plastic sachets, that you drop into the wash. They look very suspicious when you have a large amount of them bunched up together in your bag in a plastic bag ;)

Haha, I've always worried about carrying laundry powder for exactly that reason. But not overly concerned - one quick swab and scan on an atomizer will show it as neutral.

unless he was handling explosives/drugs/etc before putting the sachets into his bag :o

But (thinking he knows) drewbles well enough, that wouldn't be happening, would it...

I ensured I coated all bags liberally with Cocaine and some TNT ;)

FYI it's these Products (middle row, on the right; if they work well, it'll be a nice easy way of ensuring I have laundry powder during my travels; I dislike having to spend $2.50 a wash on laundromat detergent!).

Just overheard on the bus a nice backpack type say "pretty much between Fraser Island and cairns there's nothing". Couldn't help but lol.
..snip..

Talking about Fraser, was anyone up that way over Easter / watch the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone?

storyteller, we weren't at Fraser, but made it to Margate Beach to watch the first 90 mins of the race (before they disappeared over the horizon past Redcliffe).

Yes, it's usually as you found it today. Low volume, easy listening. Have you been back to London since we were there in January?

As long as there are no wires and a battery in there it should be ok.

Well at least you weren't taking the gel caps with you.

At least if one or two break on the journey over, just chuck the whole of your luggage in for another wash :D
