Isnt thursday the 25th? Or do you mean Wednesday the 24th?
I meant Thursday 25/09. I copied from the previous post without checking the date.

I'll have to give this one a miss - but keep me on the reminder list for upcoming ones.
Sure. Keep an eye out in this space.

Indeed, I will be there. Around 6ish works well for me, so let me know when.

Wonder if they accept Amex :D :D
I think they do accept Amex.

I will be on the 5:54pm Ipswich-Caboolture train from Toowong which should arrive at Roma Street at 6:01pm....

Ok see you there. Anyone else from AFF is welcome to come along for a drink or two.. or more :) Send either JohnK or myself a PM to finalise details (or just rock up and look for us!) Can't see the place being too busy once the work crowd leaves.

Mal,

JohnK doesn't need many more beers after last weekend

Why did you pick a Thursday night, and are some of you excercising your Amex cards.

I had a house warming party a few weekends ago; and I still have an excess of beer in the cupboard next to the fridge; maybe have an AFF house warming party that has an Amex fee $5.00 to help me drink it.

And I don't even own an Amex card, but I own a merchant account.

Oy gevalt - that just opens up a whole new can of worms doesn't it?:mrgreen:

How about this for O/T / random? (Well it wouldn't be so random if the mistakes/errors/etc. thread was still alive on FT). Don't know if this has ever been observed before....

On Departure Upgrades

  • It's just like any other Domestic upgrade, except you can do it just before you fly (as long as you are a QC member).
  • It only works on Domestic flights; for QF1-399 running on a domestic leg, only the domestic leg can be upgraded.
So...... some reasoning now....

  • The longest domestic flight by distance in Australia falls in Zone 3 on the upgrade table (I think it is BNE-PER). Even the longest possible domestic sector in Australia that I could visualise is HBA-BME (and the chances of that happening is....) - and that's still Zone 3.
There will never be a domestic flight which will be Zone 4 unless NZ becomes a state of Australia (and the chances of that happening is...... probably as likely as WA succeeding from Australia.... BNE-PER = international flight? *shudder*)
So why is the complete upgrade table provided on this web page? Isn't that just illogical to have the whole table there up to Zone 10 when we're talking about ODUs?

Unless QF is planning to allow ODUs for international flights.....

I am pleased I didn't overdo it in New Zealand unlike some of the others. At least I was in bed before midnight every night....

Was that New Zealand time or Australian East Coast time. ;)

I was in bed before midnight Australian time; does that count. :p ;)

I wasn't in New Zealand long enough to worry about resetting my clock.

What kind of fun could one have in CHC that would make you stay out later than midnight NZ time anyway?:p:D:mrgreen:

Anyone interested in drinks in Brisbane tomorrow night?

Ok; what was the plan again; or was there really one, yes I know this is the off topic thread, and I saw that a place was mentioned but why there. PM is fine.

Oh; even I was surprised; CHC kiwi(the username with the space) showed a different side to Christchurch that I didn't even know existed.

There was no plan. I think Mal mentioned that we should catch up again sometime and suggested a few places including Holiday Inn. We then invited along anyone from AFF for a few drinks.

Why Holiday Inn? It is not a bad place to catch up, draws a different type of crowd than your normal pub scene and Mal and I had our last Brisbane gathering there the week before I started work in Brisbane back in July....

Hope drinks went well last night.

Now we have to make sure that this thread stays ahead of the Amex thread....

Drinks went very well. Mal, Anat0l and myself were present with a last minute apology from Bundy Bear. We will be looking to hold another Brisbane night out end of October.

Now we have to make sure that this thread stays ahead of the Amex thread....
The Amex thread may temporarily overtake this thread at some point but it will eventually die off when the promotion is over.

At least the off topic thread makes sense. ;)
