It requires the "intention" to make a profit.
And of course if it's already making a loss - there are limited benefits in writing off further deductions

I wonder how many of the folks who had "fun" driving through the foam on the coast will be having "fun" when their car literally falls apart in 6 months time from salt corrosion?
I do like the iOS/OSX world of syncing contacts across multiple devices when they are online, so that they are variously accessible when they are offline. I am sure this is also possible in the MS/Android world. It just came to mind...
I remember in my childhood when we still had telephones and no mobiles (or really expensive ones). We collected our friends' numbers, but guess what? We seemed to be very good at memorising many of them! And this was even before you got phones with speed dial on them (and of course, programming the speed dial on your phone was like setting up a taping on your VCR!)
Now, I bet most of us can't remember many numbers to save our lives. We turn on the smart phone, go to Contacts, or type the first few letters, and voila....... sucks, of course, when your said device runs out of power...

Worst come to worst I can log into my account at an internet cafe to look up any contacts I may need.
True, I did only address the last sentence.I'm certain it's possible with Microsoft and Android, but I think you've also slightly missed the point

I can still remember the phone number of a house I lived in before I was 10...but out of all the phone numbers in my mobile, I only know two "by heart"...so if there is ever an emergency and I cant use my mobile, its either my mum or my high school bestie (luckily we're still friends).
Sums it all up really :!:I can still remember the episode where Homer Simpson says..."quick, whats the number for 911"?
How many of us remember how bake bread, start a fire, knit, hunt a mammoth, track a deer through a forest?
I don't think I ever knew how to hunt a mammoth.
Baking bread is for machines
I wouldn't recognise a mammoth if I tripped over one!!!!
Well, the numbers were shorter back then, and well, there were less of them. Most people you could get on their home number, now everyone in the family has their own number.
Having said that, I still had a notebook full of numbers....

You mean if you ran into one?
Unlikely you would trip over a mammoth, unless you were perhaps Paul Bunyan.
