That is exactly my point people now are not learning to remember phone numbers not because society is getting dumber but because society doesn't need people to know and remember this stuff.

I wish they remembered at least 000 or 112, and that is not the number to call to order a pizza.

Was just coming along Webster Road northbound and saw what I thought was a RAAF 4 propeller plane (C180?) traveling slowly south. Was grey but couldn't make out any markings (trying not to cause accidents).

Anybody able to confirm ??

C130, perhaps?? Not too many quad prop options in Aus.

Tip: if you like your stuff, get contents insurance.

That is all. Doesn't change the heartbreak or disappointment of losing things, but helps the pocket not to be hit.

It requires the "intention" to make a profit.
I don't think it would be a good idea for me.

And we are talking about airfares only which at $6,000-$8,000 a year are not worth the extra attention I would receive.

Reports slowly coming in that the treatment plant at Mt Crosby is slowly coming back online.

Thank goodness - part of the water supply crisis is averted. Obviously not out of the woods yet, so still in conservative water use mode, but better than complete dry that was possibly threatened!

Mum's working at the Mater tonight and the staff were told that water use was to be significantly cut, to the point that turning on a tap was almost verboten.

Domestic airfare purchases for Business purpases of that level would have a direct input tax credit(/rebate) of between $550 and $700 - that's before you consider further deductions.

Now, I bet most of us can't remember many numbers to save our lives. We turn on the smart phone, go to Contacts, or type the first few letters, and voila....... sucks, of course, when your said device runs out of power...
Glad you said most us.

I can remember most phone numbers I am likely to need, I remember all my bank account accounts and most of my credit cards and when each needs to be paid. I can remember my Qantas membership number, velocity number, BMI number as well as points balances for most loyalty programs. I can remember most of my booked flights.

Why? I do not want to be dependant on any gadget and I also enjoy memorising things....

Actually I don't know my home phone number. I never ring it and always provide the mobile number because it is with me.

I guess I could look at my phone bill if I really wanted to know but I don't. Too much stuff to remember already.

You should ditch the home line :D

We got power back at 1am today.

We have had no mobile phone coverage either for the past few days.

The only communication we have had was the home phone.

We are still very lucky as we still have our house.

Few trees down and work at the moment has no internet.

and if you think you can't afford the insurance policy, then you can't afford not to be insured.

NBN or no NBN, why would fibre optics be so highly touted in our harsh Australian environment when the constituent infrastructure appears to be non-resilient?

I received a credit card bill where if I paid the minimum monthly amount it would be fully repaid just before my 114th birthday.

My current MC account if I pay the minimum payable would see it paid off just before my 178th birthday!!!!!!!!
