Currently sat at the BNE INT QP, sipping a Blue Tongue and waiting for lunch to be served. After 1.5 hours on QR, there’s simply nothing better than a cold beer, even if it is 11:40.

I think it was there, but not entirely sure. There was quite a nice collection of higher end spirits.
Something that BA does well in their London FLounges - and something QF can learn from

Was at the Park Hyatt Sydney over the weekend - they certainly have a nice collection of Scotch!

My Holiday Inn Express does too ... not surprising seeing I'm in EDI ;)

Ah, that's where we stayed when we were in EDI. Got the room (either Queen or Double bed, can't remember AND a fold out double sofa bed) for 39 quid for the night. Some girls we met while there told us that was how much they paid in total for 2 of them for a hostel for that same night, so needless to say we were pretty happy! :p

I paid quite a bit more... but it's also a different season, and I only booked last week.

Still, it's nice enough for a UK hotel. No aircon though, which made the room pretty stuffy earlier. Luckily they do have a fan.

We didn't need aircon when we were there :p:lol:

I forget that a lot of European hotels don't have aircon! It's for that reason (and also because I love winter) that I prefer to travel in the cooler months

It's odd how you get used to a country where a hotel room with aircon is standard (at least in present times now), but then you go to other countries which can be quite cold, and the aircon is either just a heater or, in one case I found, the aircon is turned off during winter.

None of this I really mind, but not having something like an aircon, fan or windows that open make a room stuffy and the same air doesn't get replaced.

Thank god we were able to open a window at the hotel in Frankfurt ! That heater was *too* warm.

Had my best arrival through BNE international ever.Touch down at 0658.In Limo by 0725 and home on the sunny coast at 0830.:D

I'm currently sitting in the BNE J lounge wait for my flight to Adelaide. Fortunately I have managed to swap to an earlier flight so I don't have a 5.75 hr wait in BNE. :D

Amazing how J fares seem to be lots more flexible than Y , even as ASA's ;)

Absolutely. The premium desk swapped me to a flight that did not have U availability. :D

If I had been more organised I could have popped out for a drink! Hope the sugar shaker looked after you!

/off topic/

with my recent o/s travel, i have moved from 22.8% LTS to 28.2% LTS.

I was briefly bemused by the fact the numbers are just moved about.
