Much later on 14 June, TT816, its sole flight that operates five days a week from CBR to BNE (the 1435 hours with A320 VH-VNC) took off at 1754 so arrival will not be until at least 1924, 189 late. This plane must be subbing for a defective colleague as it arrived in BNE this afternoon at 1449 hours, a minute early (ex SYD) on TT368 and then operated the BNE - CBR 1215 hours TT815 that was not in the sky until 1532 hours.
Yesterday this aircraft undertook an amazing nine flights, operating DRW - BNE - MEL - BNE - SYD - BNE - CBR - BNE - CNS - BNE, starting at a scheduled 0140 hours in DRW and finishing (344 minutes late) at 0224 on Friday 14 in CNS. Again, it must have subbed for part of yesterday for another defective plane.
With this sort of performance and its inability in most quarters and years to be profitable, one wonders how much time TT has left before VA's new CEO pulls the plug. I just can't see it continuing as there's no near term prospect of it returning an acceptable yield to shareholders.
