I received the 50K bonus points and 100 bonus SC (I'm gold) today (4 Jan 2012).

I completed my spending requirement on 31 Dec 2011. The monthly statement was generated on 3 Jan 2012.

Um.. I know I don't earn velocity pts or SC for Award Seat. Is it the same case for Any Seat of DJ?

Also, how about partners like SQ?

You dont earn points or SCs on any awards with DJ, but at present the points + cash J redemptions are very good value, and wont last, say I wanted to go to Perth today for the heck of it in an hours time, for just under 7000 points and $189 I can do it, pretty good value:



So your 50000 points equals 7 J redemptions where points + pay are used!

Interesting that your statement has been issued in less than the calendar month after activation.
The advice I received from Virgin Money was that the first statement is "printed" one calendar month after activation and the statement recurs then on the same date of each subsequent month.
Yours seems to have made it through a little early - with the really important bit being the instant credit to your Velocity account.

Must have missed that, then, in the initial flurry of applying right on the death knock.

Thank you for the suggestion.
However, I think I will need a pause to regain my strength first, after the umpteen phone calls to and from Virgin Money to get to this point.

I'm hoping that once everything is in place, it will be smoother sailing.

I will be checking up again on the one month anniversary of activating the card, to make sure that the SCs and points are posted.
(By that stage, I should be feeling strong enough to call them once more, if necessary.)

In what order did you guys receive yours? I'm asking because I also miss an Amex Card and have a slight suspicion my home mailbox has been compromised.

I had the card and 3 of the 4 letters arrive on the same day!

My card arrived first, then three of the letters in the same mail two working days later. A fourth letter arrived more than a week after the first three.

Not much consistency evident - but may have been compounded by the time of year and consequent messing around with mail deliveries.

If Citibank is the card issuer, I would give it a few days. A Citibank letter (containing the PIN) that I received on 22/12/11 (dated 20/12/11), for a CitiBusiness gold card, advised that if I had not yet received my credit card, to phone them immediately. Having dealt with Citibank in the past, I decided to wait a bit longer. The card arrived on 28th.

Amex will send a new card per courier till monday. Let's hope I don't have to test VM for such a feature.

Like a few others I don't think it was worth the effort in trying to deal with the call centre.
