Have just been informed that I have met the requirements and points/credits will be credited To my account on my statement date.

A similar tale of multiple, repetitive phone calls and requests for information, here. And a couple of weeks, with the application status showing Conditional Approval.
Then an email today, announcing approval but a limit of only $6K/month, and a promise of card delivery within a couple of days. Before Christmas would be nice!
But will expect it when I see it, after all the run around to date.

Had the most frustrating phone call this afternoon.

They some how had my income at about 30% or reality and therefore I did not qualify. I explained it about 27 time but because my answers don't fit into their normal scripts there was no understanding.

The majority of my income is from Superannuation so they wanted details of my super, which when I quizzed them meant 'how much money do I have invested in super?'. That is something I am not prepared to tell them.

The next step was to get my accountant to write something to the effect re super. They could not understand that it is an investment advisor and not an accountant, a bank or an insurance company.

Very frustrating. I don't need the card particularly but the points and SC would be handy.

I must admit, I am not a serial CC churner and my only other experience outwith our Westpac Earth cards was the application for the Woolies EDR CC. It was much less painful. Citibank/ Virgin Money are well below par here and if it weren't for the ( hopefully) 50K points/200SC I would have given up a long time ago.

Straitman, wouldn't a income tax return suffice for the entire process.

I am self employed and all we did was provided a balance sheet and something else and all done.

I am not sure of what your reportable income is.

Just a comment.

Thanks for a good thought but as over 60 and bulk of income from super (tax free) this does not work. Also this is the first year where this applies so there is no track record. The previous year was employment income which is no longer valid.

I think it is time to give up Bill...I have!!...the whole process became too painful....my status is "application cancelled. Please call if you want to reapply". I could send in my latest ATO assessment but even 50k pts is no longer worth the angst dealing with this group of .....

I was rejected because my application was too soon after my successful application for a Citibank Business Gold card. It all seems rather odd. :?:

It is odd.

There is some commonality in the backend processing. When they checked my credit file, they did so under the name of Citibank.

But even as an existing Citibank client, they wanted all sorts of id.

I am currently sitting in limbo land with a conditional approval, even though they have rung me to confirm they have all the required documentation

Citibank is odd, why else would they offer so high amounts of frequent flyer points for signing up to many of their cards?

Ahh... gotta love a morning wake-up call from an indian callcenter!

The guy asked me to send them various documents... I said I talked to someone before re. the electronic ID Check at the Post Office and they promised to send me instructions. He said nothing is noted and will set everything up now. He mentioned they can't reach our finance department so I gave him the cellphone # of the manager. Let's see how it goes... ;)

Finally received card today hopefullly dont need to speak to them again...ever :)
Well I guess we all different - I find them - read Virgin Money / Citibank - somewhat amusing.

And to be honest if I can get 50,000 bonus Velocity pts and 200 SC's each time I would be happy to talk to them every day of the week - it's just a little time consuming IMHO.

You are probably correct. I just do not tolerate idiots very well.

This may not be good news for me. Last week I was approved for the CitiBusiness Gold card and have been thinking about applying for the Virgin card in the next week, or so.

I wonder how soon is "too soon"?
