Did they mention that in the initial email / online response or in a follow up call?

Seems like everyone is getting different verification processes...

I had an initial phone call asking for information (only id and utility statement). I then got an email saying I needed 4 different things which seemed contrary to the phone call I had initially had and acted on (and I think was an auto generated mail). Needless to say I did not act on the email. I rang a week later, asked what the go was, they said I was tentatively approved but they would send out an id check to be done at the local postoffice!

After completing the electronic ID check at the postoffice i received a confirmation email 6 hours later saying my card would be sent.

Thanks. I will follow the same avenue and see what it brings. Organizing a payslip at this time of the year is tough as I wont go into work until mid JAN anymore.

Received congrats email and phonecall on the 12/12 saying a couple of days in the mail I will receive my card and my approval date is 12/12. Still havent got card and would like to Xmas shop on it to accumulate the $7500 required:(

I applied, sent the payslip in etc. They kept calling me after business hours to check that I was not commission based salay, I told them at least a couple of times that you could see my base. They wanted to call payroll, they kept doing this at 7pm. I called them and said that you are never going to get our Finance Manager after hours. Anyway I dont even think they spoke to her. I got an email and then the card rocked up a couple of days later. I hope that I never have to speak to them again. When I activated it they tried to sell me everything under the sun. Citibank is enept, I just hope that no further conversations are required. I am keen to hear from anyone that has reached the 7,500 spend, was it a simple process to get the points? I can see now that my card is linked with my Velocity Account and it shows 4 available flights.

I never received the email offer - I applied through the link posted below - I have been approved and told card in email - was also told when I received approval phone call that YES I was entitled to receive 50K bonus Velocity pts.

$7.5K spend will occur first day after receipt of card and activation. So I assume the 50K points and the 200SC's (Plat) will not appear until expiration of 3mth period?

Wait until you ring in 3 months to try and cancel the card!
Wouldn't you keep the card just to get the 4 x 2 4 1 flights?

Cruiserette and I are off to Vanuatu on Dec 26 in PE which she purchased using her Virgin Flyer card - saved $1,400 in costs using the 2 4 1 flts deal.

Pretty sure it doesn't work with Saver fares ... and I don't pay for Flexis :p

edit: It does work with Saver fares ... holy cough that's much better than I expected. OK, might hang on to the card for a while :D

Haven't had any of the difficulties other people seem to have had. Applied via the link from here. They requested tax return, confirmed with my accountant (self employed) and I received the card in less than a week which is amazing for remote WA. Was asked about insurance which I declined. Have contacted customer service twice with no problems at all. When I queried my bonus I was told I had been linked to double points. I emailed them the screen shot from my application showing 50000 plus 200sc's and they asked me to contact them when I had reached the $7500 and they would process the points and credits. I did this over the weekend and will let you know if/when they post.
Booked the first of my free flights for the day and time I wanted.
BPay payments to the card appear overnight. The only complaint I have so far is the internet banking site does not show pending payments as individual amounts.

God this mob are a bunch of clowns - when I spoke to them agent said he could see not on my applic that I was entitled to 50K bonii but as for SC's I would need to talk to Velocity as Virgin Money had no idea about the bonus SC's.

In what booking class does the companion ticket book, revenue or reward?

If it would book into revenue then it would be a great deal - book flexi, buy 1 get 1, use Platinum Upgrades to Business.

The last contact from them was on 1st December at about 7pm.

Today I got a letter which states:

We've received your application for the Virgin Credit Card - but we have a few questions.

We've been trying to call you on the numbers you provided us but with no luck.

Unfortunately we can't go any further until it's sorted. So if you could help us out by giving us a call on 1300 335 213 we can get the ball rolling.

All the best,

Unfortunately the reference number they have used is the same wrong one they contacted me about previously.

I wonder why am I so lacking in confidence about these people :!:

Pretty sure I'm in Groundhog day here. Called several times last week "We are waiting from verification fax from your employer", finally snapped and phoned payroll on Friday who sent fax back as I was on the telephone to them. Called the call centre today "We are waiting on verification fax from your employer", I advised fax had been sent Fri, after more holding time "We have fax from your employer but need to telephone them to verify the identity of the person sending the fax."
I attempt to ask for a time frame for this to take place, they advise me to call back this afternoon.
Ten minutes later another call centre team member rings to say that everything has been approved and I should expect the card in 3-4 working days, hurray :) :) I think although somewhat prematurely:
Have just logged onto the Internet application status page which is showing my application as "cancelled"
WTF!!! I give up

Hi Cruiser Elite !

Do you mind telling what booking class you received for your companion ticket? :)
