VAd late running continues well into the evening of Monday 19 August with VA978, the 1805 hours BNE - SYD airbiorne at 1922, so B738 VH-YIA is arriving 67 late at 2047 hours.

VA539 (1810 hours SYD - OOL) was not in the sky until 2016 so at gate arrival should be about 2120 hours, 110 late for B738 VH-YFF.

Rough day to be flying it seems.

Lots of delays at SYD. QF have found a 744 for a SYD-MEL-SYD rotation. VA obviously without that option is struggling. And to top it off the 1000 VA830 had a spill in the hold, compounding previous issues...the lounge is relatively quiet all things considered

Must...Fly!, interesting. Dangerous chemicals are not allowed to be transported by air so what sort of 'spills in the hold' could cause delays?

Anything, doesn't have to be dangerous for it to be an issue. And plenty of dangerous goods can travel in the hold as liquid

Passenger side never gets the whole story anyway. Could be hydraulic fluid and the flight will never go...could be just some unexplained liquid that they need to find the source of before being sure the aircraft is fit to fly.

They can take as long as they want. It's the insult of having been bumped off my original flight because of a 25 minute inbound delay, watching that leave 25 late so easily could have been on board...

At least managed to swap a middle seat at the back for a middle seat and in to economy X again...

VA78, the Wednesday 21 August 2019 scheduled 0610 hours from APW to SYD (B738 VH-YIZ) took off at 0732 with a 64 minute late arrival at 1049 the prediction.

The 0930 hours BNE up to POM has F100 VH-UQC. It was airborne at 1034 hours, so arrival is delayed until a predicted 1343, 53 minutes behind schedule.

On Thursday 22 August 2019, VA1535 (16309 afternoon HBA up to SYD) was not in the sky until 1829. B738 VH-YFG looks to be arriving 112 late at 2012 this evening.

VA872, the 1745 hours SYD - MEL took off until 1837 with arrival at 2000 hours, 40 late.

VA1576 on Friday 23 August, the 0700 hours DRW down to ASP was airborne at 0748 so arrival for F100 VH-FZI should be at about 0938 hours, 38 behind schedule.

VA850 (1500 hours SYD - MEL, Friday 23 August, B738 VH-VUZ) took off at 1559 so at gate arrival looks to be 1716 hours, 41 late.

It looks as if MEL is down to single runway operations, creating delays: confirmation from anyone at the airport would be appreciated.

Just what the doctor ordered during Friday's afternoon peak period!

B738 VH-YWD on VA869 (1715 hours MEL - SYD with takeoff at 1819) should arrive on 23 August at about 1925, 45 minutes late, showing again how much time single runway operations can result in passengers being delayed by.

VA744 OOL-MEL (B738 VH-YFX) arrived at 18 19, 54 min tardy.
VA96 CHC-MEL (B738 VH-YIS) arrived to gate at 18 42, 53 min behind schedule.
VA862 SYD-MEL (B738 VH-YFH) is expected at 19 12, 67 min late.
VA278 CBR-MEL (B738 VH-YFK) should arrive at 19 08, 58 tardy.
VA866 SYD-MEL (B738 VH-VOK) has a revised arrival to gate at 19 37, 62 late.

VA284, another CBR down to MEL on Friday 23 August is arriving at its allocated gate at 2044 hours, 59 late with B738 VH-VUR, so very similar to VA278 highlighted by Silvia in the previous post.

VH-YFF on the 1800 hours SYD - MEL (VA874) took off at 1831, about 15 - 20 minutes behind schedule. As with so many others on this and the route ex CBR, it had to hold above Mt Buller so arrival is suggested as 2050, 75 late. To lose about an hour on a flight length (gate to gate) of 95 minutes is poor, and contrasts with overseas how high speed trains run punctually hour after hour. We are missing out.

VA876, the 1815 ex SYD was airborne at 1840, only 10 to 15 minutes late but its MEL arrival should be 2058, 68 late. Aircraft is B738 VH-VUQ.

VA899 on Friday 23 August, the scheduled 2115 hours MEL - SYD did not take off until 2208 so must have a dispensation from the 2300 hours curfew. Its aircraft VH-YFR looks to be landing at about 2307 with arrival at gate 2312, 32 late.

VA353 (VH-VOM) is the 2015 hours MEL - BNE in the sky at 2210. Arrival should be at midnight, 95 late.

VA895 from MEL up to SYD should be at its arrival gate at about 2255, an hour behind.

Sunday 25 August's VA487 (1845 hours SYD - MCY, B737 VH-VBY) took off at 1944 with arrival at 2104 hours, 44 behind the estimate.

VA1512 (VH-VUX) is the 1730 hours MCY down to MEL in the sky at 1828, so predicted arrival is 2052, 52 minutes tardy.

VA69 departed almost 10 hours late at 1917 this evening with -XFD.

VA68 is estimated to depart at a rather ungodly 04:15.

VA69 tomorrow will be operated by -XFH so will be on time, however it will be interesting to see if VA68 gets away on time tomorrow night.

VA1508 (Monday 26 August, the 1225 hours lunchtime MCY - MEL with B738 VH-YWE) was airborne at 1304 and should arrive at roughly 1526 hours, 31 late mid afternoon.

B738 VH-YIY on VA43 (1010 hours nicely timed BNE up to DPS) is far worse, as it was in the sky at 1418 this afternoon. Arrival looks like 1830 in teh early evening local time, 226 minutes behind the schedule.

On Tuesday 27 August, VA551 (A332 VH-XFE, the 0715 hours morning SYD across to PER) was not in the sky until 1023 so arrival should be 1308 hours, 163 minutes behind schedule. This aircraft looks to have as its next run VA564, the 1620 hours back to SYD so the long gap between scheduled flights should mean the latter is on time.
